Tuesday, May 12, 2015. My dear MMSA community,. It's with a heavy heart that I share the news that our friend Currie Silver lost her battle with lung cancer on April 25th. Currie started swapping here in February 2013, and over the next two years she created a staggering 286 pieces of art for this group. She was active in the informal swap group as well, and I'm sure a great many of you have had the pleasure of opening your mailbox and finding her fabulous and colorful work. Tuesday, September 17, 2013. We held a long-running swap over at Art4Mail honoring the Fruits of the Spirit. Here is a 6x6" quiltie that I made for Vickie in Canada. The first fruit is LOVE and this was my offering to her featuring the language of flowers. The anemone stands for unfading love, which is the kind that God has for each of us. Mail me some art: FAQ
http://mailmesomeart.blogspot.com/p/faq.html
How do the swaps work? The swap theme, host information and due date is posted on the blog. Participants create art according to the theme and send your items to the host along with the cost of return postage. The host photographs all the art, and emails it to me so I can post the pictures here with the names of the artist. The host then swaps all the art, mailing something back to everyone who participated. Why do it this way? Do I have to post my address on line? How do I find out about new swaps?
