Tuesday, 6 July 2010. On a vampire shoot I went to recently as part of a meetup.com group here, I saw reflectors being used and found them very very useful! They can be a saviour when used correctly can make awesome portraits. Need to buy one now. Pretty cheap compared to flash and very flexible to use. Bought this one and used on 2 outdoor shoots recently and its a STAR performer. I bought Ex-Pro 5 in 1 Photographic Light reflector and would recommend it highly. Link to product on amazon.co.uk.

Things I found which are essential to right portrait. 1 Expression (mostly headshots). 2 Pose (full/partial body). 3 Tone/exposure depending upon mood. 4 Composition (including angle). Friday, 2 July 2010. I wanted to read about Photojournalism since that is one of the ways to make meaningful pictures. Bought "Photojournalism, Sixth Edition: The Professionals' Approach" by Kenneth Kobre and I absolutely loved it! This is one of the books I wish I would have read earlier but its never too late anyway :) A must read, even if u r not interested in photojournalism at all.
