Sunday, March 23, 2008. We visited Ganpatipule during this holi holiday. Its approx a 360 kms drive and we started at 6 am in the morning to ensure we reach well in time before the sun sets. We took the Thane Belapur road upto Kalamboli. and then joined the old Mumbai Pune road upto Palaspe, thats where we take a right to join Mumbai Goa highway, NH17. Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Growth v/s the environment- conflict? Yesterday there was a report about a proposed coal mining project. The site is situated inside a protected forest and may result in a destruction. Of over 35% of its forest area. The present norms restrict the forest cover destruction to 10%. There is lobbying to raise the bar else we may not have. Millions of poor and pull them out of poverty. How to achieve a balance, else our future generations wont be left with a planet to live on.
