In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. Isn’t lavished a great word? When I think of lavished I think of being smothered in love, not in a bad way, but in a meeting your great-aunt after a long time away kind of love. I hope you know what I’m talking about – extreme joy, laughter, kisses and hugs that only a precious old lady could effectively give. The Old Testament states that God is even jealous for us.
