Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1. Tuesday, October 4, 2011. Thereʻs been many changes here in our home lately but things have finally settled in. We got a couple new nurses who are working out okay. Yes, Iʻm deeply saddened to report that Patrick is no longer Calebʻs home care nurse. But he will forever be a favorite uncle to our kids! We also decided to switch nursing companies and that has lifted a huge stress off my shoulders! I love watching my ...

How is Luke Doing? Great!: December 2013
http://howsluke.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
How is Luke Doing? Saturday, December 21, 2013. The Searles Family 2013 Christmas Letter. We decided this year instead of printing up and mailing out a family letter I would just blog a letter, so here it goes . . . Gordy celebrated his 23rd year of working for REI. We are both grateful that REI allows him to have a flexible work schedule and work from home 2 days a week. This cuts on his commute time of course and also helps with the cost of the wear and tear on his car and the cost of gas. In May Gordy...

Drowning awareness and prevention. Friday, January 27, 2012. Mr Aidan had an appointment with a new neurologist to discuss the possibility of doing botox in Aidan's legs to help with his tone. After the doctor assessed Aidan's tone, she decided that the botox probably wasn't going to help very much and suggested surgery to cut the heel cords, and to see if we can get the baclofen pump surgery soon as well. Pray For Bryce
A Poem from a Father to His Son. For those of you who were not able to attend the funeral I shared a poem that I wrote for Bryce as a gift this past Christmas. I am not a poet, but felt very inspired as I wrote this poem. It was amazing to me how the words flowed to me and how quickly I was able to compose it. At the end of the poem it almost seems prophetic to me. A Poem from a Father to his Son. The Father loved all of His spirit children beyond measure;. We chose to follow the Father and received a pr...

A day will come when all the imaginary lines will be blown away, and in the scattering dust of all the maps made meaningless, all things will be left equal once again. A Wilderness Between Us. April 15, 2018. One the barest winter day, I can look to the southeast and make out the shape and color of my nearest neighbor’s house through the foreground of maple and poplar.
