That costed me the winning of the day and a nice bottle of “Treintatres” vino :( But you don’t hear me complaining about 4th place! So, what happened more? The night before this day, we celebrated Franco’s birthday. It’s something what we share: always celebrating our birthday on an airfield…. First of all: CU starts to pop up at 12:00, growing in a fast rate and staying there for a long time. Cloudbase reported @ 3000m! Second, the people are even friendlier then I thought (and I already thought they were). Third, this feels like vacation! See for yourself. Imagine you have to buy your (forgotten) towel in here (ok, he doesn’t look friendly, be he really was):. PS: This is Franco :).

Pre-Mundial @ Adolfo Gonzales Chaves. Dinsdag 3 januari 2012. If you’re only interested to read something about gliding: stop reading. I just arrived in Buenos Aires and I have nothing to tell about gliding yet. Because I couldn’t get a KLM ticket I had to take the night flight from Lufthansa. At least I could fly in business (close call, because somebody thought I didn’t meet the dress code! Well, there is no other option to fly such a long flight through the night then business (or better): 14 hours!

Pre-Mundial @ Adolfo Gonzales Chaves. Vrijdag 6 januari 2012. About my goal and the first/last training day. So what I’m up against? But it’s not all about flying. Get familiar with the neighborhood, the country, the customs, nutrition, meet some people, discovering/solving logistic problems, etc, so I’ll have a bit of an advantage on all aspects compared to those who didn’t come here. The first thing you notice when you fly here: besides Chaves (which is a modest town) there is absolutely NOTHING!
