My Hovercraft is Full of Eels: A Study In Studies
http://kelseighn.blogspot.com/2014/02/a-study-in-studies.html
Monday, February 17, 2014. A Study In Studies. Now reading the writing course prompt, a line is included to suggest that being expressive and articulate was a way to promote brain health, and developing better writing skills would ward off Alzheimer's (and presumably other brain problems) later on down the line. In other words, rather than a. Result of the study, the writer assumes a. Not that the study doesn't actually say this. To be fair to writers of these stories, especially professional reporters, ...

My Hovercraft is Full of Eels: 100 Theme Challenge - 1: Introduction
http://kelseighn.blogspot.com/2014/03/100-theme-challenge-1-introduction.html
Wednesday, March 5, 2014. 100 Theme Challenge - 1: Introduction. Welcome to my new writing venture, the 100 Theme Challenge. This was originally a drawing prompt that appeared on deviantART but it's taken on a bit of a life of its own, especially since it can be applied to pretty much any creative work. In my case, obviously it's writing. And giving each character in the scene three random traits that I need to show through their interactions. Even if I don't, it's worth the effort. Kella froze, not dari...

My Hovercraft is Full of Eels: May 2010
http://kelseighn.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 22, 2010. Clearly it's been too long since I posted. But summer is here, and with it a lot of free drawing time, so hopefully I'll be able to provide some worthwhile work to show you all. So first things first, I managed to pass first year Animation! In an attempt to make my basic drawing skills stronger, as well as doing a lot of life drawing. Not that something like that's gonna stop me. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My Hovercraft is Full of Eels: August 2010
http://kelseighn.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 17, 2010. Love hurts when it punches your face. Almost, I said. So why did I say that? Well, let's take a look at the character interaction. Scott interacts great with his band. Scott interacts great with his gay roommate. Scott interacts great with his sister and the foul-mouthed store clerk who seems to work everywhere in Toronto. Scott interacts fantastic with his opponents, the Seven Evil Exes. Everyone mentioned interacts well with each other too. Hold on, something's missing here.

My Hovercraft is Full of Eels: June 2011
http://kelseighn.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 2, 2011. About Tumblr, that is. I'd heard it's a good place for posting images, so it sounded tailor-made for an art blog. So for now, Blogger is where I blog. In art-related news, I'm beginning to sense a trend. When I tell myself at the beginning of the summer I want to concentrate on developing certain skills, I will be totally off base. I told myself at the beginning of the summer that I wanted to concentrate on gestural animation and maybe go back to doing Vilppu studies.

My Hovercraft is Full of Eels: June 2010
http://kelseighn.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 29, 2010. I Know How to Flatline Without Taking a Life. Nothing too thrilling, just a couple of pages of boxes in blue. Monday, June 28, 2010. What's the big deal about sophisticatin' yo' palate? Finally sat myself down and watched Brendan and the Secret of Kells. Last night, which if you know me is a bit of an achievement. I've had a copy kicking around since the beginning of May. But like most movies I really want to see, I somehow just never got around to actually watching. A bit of figu...

My Hovercraft is Full of Eels: Walls and Character
http://kelseighn.blogspot.com/2014/02/walls-and-character.html
Saturday, February 22, 2014. I've gotten to the point in building a habit where I'm resisting the daily prompt to keep going, and beginning to look for excuses. It's the weekend, I'm tired, I have no inspiration, etc. This is the inevitable monster I must slay, to use a horribly overused metaphor that I frankly hate but is appropriate in this case. It to be crap. "Adequate" would be quite nice at this stage, although the course prompt today tells me not to just settle. We'll see how that goes. This, obvi...

My Hovercraft is Full of Eels: Shall We Play A Game?
http://kelseighn.blogspot.com/2014/02/shall-we-play-game.html
Friday, February 21, 2014. Shall We Play A Game? It's one of those really blah days out there, the kind where it's raining all the time and generally bleak and you really can't get up the energy to do much of anything. Not that I haven't done a few things. My daily exercises, my daily drawing practice (one page of Bridgeman every day - why did that bastard put the stuff about hands at the FRONT? Skyrim is an ADD paradise though. There's just so damn much to do! I mean, I can get all effusive with the adj...

My Hovercraft is Full of Eels: Readiness
http://kelseighn.blogspot.com/2014/02/readiness.html
Wednesday, February 19, 2014. Today's writing course lesson is to do something I've been doing since the start, using a timer. Given how early on it suggested having a minimum unit of time, it seems a bit redundant to talk about it again more than two weeks later. Which leaves me at a bit of a loose end, given I don't have anything today that really grabs my attention. For this exercise, I think I'll take a character I've had in my head for some time, Tell from. So the good question here is, how does it ...
