Whatever Happened to Sin? (Pt. 2) – preacherkeith's Blog
https://preacherkeith.wordpress.com/2015/08/06/whatever-happened-to-sin-pt-2
Daily Devotional Thoughts from Pastor Keith Vaughan. Whatever Happened to Sin? 8220;And Nathan said to David, ‘You are the man.'” (II Samuel 12:7). Yesterday, we talked about the fact that sin no longer is a concept or word many people use in today’s world. We live in a time when everything is true and nothing is wrong. We are reaping the consequences of years of relativism and liberalism. In our devotion yesterday, I spent time addressing the question “whatever happened to the REALITY of sin? Too many p...
It’s a Terrible Trap – preacherkeith's Blog
https://preacherkeith.wordpress.com/2015/08/19/its-a-terrible-trap
Daily Devotional Thoughts from Pastor Keith Vaughan. It’s a Terrible Trap. 8220;The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.” (Proverbs 29:25). 8220;WOW Pastor. What a story. What’s the point? The point is that if you live to please other people, you will either lose your mule or you will lose your mind! Really…they really will leave poop on your porch! It has happened to me. Here’s a good verse for you to memorize. It’s Ephesians 2:10. You seek to please God in all you do. I...
Persistant Forgiveness – preacherkeith's Blog
https://preacherkeith.wordpress.com/2015/08/18/persistant-forgiveness
Daily Devotional Thoughts from Pastor Keith Vaughan. 8220;Be on your guard. If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and comes back to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.” (Luke 17:3-4). Perhaps one of the most interesting things about this passage of Scripture is the response of the apostles after Jesus gave this particular teaching. The only thing they could say in response to this was,. 8220;Father, forgiv...

Daily Devotional Thoughts from Pastor Keith Vaughan. The Secret of Contentment. Please take a few minutes to meditate on the words of our passage of Scripture for this morning…. Contentment is a LEARNED behavior. Look at what Paul says…. 8220;I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.”. When you learn to be content in whatever circumstance you encounter, you will then be able to say,. 8220;I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”. The crowd was quiet…nobody made a bid. Contentme...

Daily Devotional Thoughts from Pastor Keith Vaughan. Whatever Happened to Sin? 8220;And Nathan said to David, ‘You are the man.” (II Samuel 12:7). Karl Menninger is a name associated with the practice of psychiatry. Through the years, Dr. Menninger attempted to analyze and solve world problems with the application of psychiatry. I suppose his most famous book was. Whatever Became of Sin? Because we have convinced ourselves and others that sin is bad — just not too bad, we now think sin is not impor...

Running the Race: June 2014
http://hhazardblog.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Well, well, it seems I have grown rather sporadic of late. It has been a crazily busy month for us and now we are headed out of town for an extended visit to family. I may or may not have internet access, so this will probably be a "see you later for now.". Do you not know? Do you not hear? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? To whom then will you compare me, that I should be like him? Have you not known? He giv...

Responding to Insults | The Unappreciated Pastor
https://theunappreciatedpastor.wordpress.com/2014/07/26/responding-to-insults
The lighter side of the heavy side of ministry. Poking fun and provoking thought. 1 The sermon insult. 2 The dream job insult. It must be nice to only work two days a week! I have never had a person agree to do that. 3 The comparison insult. In conclusion I would like to add that criticism should be taken seriously. God uses others to reveal our weaknesses. It could be that our insulter is trying to injure us but God uses them to instruct us. When our insulters are right it is a good practice...Insults w...

Running the Race: January 2014
http://hhazardblog.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 29, 2014. The Sobering State of the Union. Actually, it would be more accurate to say that they have probably all been entirely ignorant of the true state of the Union. No, what really matters in the state of this Union is its spiritual health. What does the average individual within it live for? Where is its moral compass and how humble are its leaders, how open to criticism and change? What are we rewarding in the next generation- mediocrity or sacrifice and commitment? How can we no...

Running the Race: February 2014
http://hhazardblog.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 27, 2014. It was Genesis 17: 1 that stood out to me. Are You sure, God? That seems a bit much for the little ones. the bit about walking before You and being blameless," was my thought but I jotted the verse on the board as the little people arrived and we dove in with me having no idea what would come of it. As it turned out, God had some pretty amazing things to say to me. and to them, I suppose, but I honestly think I am usually the one who learns the most out of these classes!
Running the Race: November 2013
http://hhazardblog.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 21, 2013. O LORD, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me. But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me. O Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and forevermore. Neither one is a recipe for a peaceful, joyful time. Now that I've mulled it over, I think I'll keep my eyes lowered, my thoughts from pondering too long ...
Running the Race: May 2014
http://hhazardblog.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 31, 2014. Today's passage is special to me because it was the inspiration for this blog, the source of its title, and also serves as a kind of a perpetual reminder of what my business is on this largish, whirling ball of rock and water. It reminds me that my life- my marriage, my home school, my child raising, everything. It is my tendency to look at the Divnely appointed task list I am given and think, "Is that all? Sometimes, I need that reminder. Unless the LORD builds the house, those w...

LEARNING WHAT IT MEANS TO LIVE
LEARNING WHAT IT MEANS TO LIVE. I want to honor God with my life. I'm tired of attempting to be just a good citizen or a good man. I want to be a sold-out-disciple of Jesus. Tuesday, July 13, 2010. July 13, 2010. I'm considering taking a break from blogging for a while. Maybe it's a time thing. Maybe it is a lack of passion. I don't know. Two weeks ago we made a drive out to Amarillo to celebrate Billy and Melba's ( Kayci's. This past week, David and Malaya have been in Memphis with us. They left thi...

I Was Just Thinking....
I Was Just Thinking. Just my ramblings about politics, current news, religion, the Bible and whatever else might need a "I was thinking" comment. Wednesday, October 17, 2012. I'm not an investment wizard and not am I condemning those who invest, I've tried a couple of times, and about all I get out of it was TAKEN! I guess you have to have someone like "Chuck" pulling for you before you can be sure that your investment is sound and that you can make some money off of it. They tell you that it all depends...
PreacherLady | God Wanted it Told so He Revealed it To a Woman First.
I believe Holy Scripture is God’s infallible word. It existed before the beginning of time and will remain forever. TRUTH is ‘unchangeable’. It shows us the way of. God and the way to. God; there is a difference. Some people know about God but they do not ‘know Him’. God longs for you to know Him; and you can absolutely become a friend of God! The ‘One God’ thing confuses some people. Others embrace Him as the ‘trinity’; some think about God as ‘. And far more than any mortal has the capacity to love,.
