Raindrops: January 2013
http://ijustremember.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 14, 2013. The fear that is. It was a calm Sunday evening. I had plans for dinner with friends at 8pm. I stay at a place that is one kilometre away from the main road. The area is not connected by buses due to road that is being dug up and filled at regular intervals for the past 6 months for God knows what! That has left the residents with the option of walking to the bus stop on main road or taking an auto for extra charge. Auto guys act as if I dug up the road! I came across a deserted ...

Raindrops: August 2013
http://ijustremember.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 15, 2013. Today when my friend's maid - Rayeema who is in her 60s - came in for work, she greeted her with an Independence Day wish and asked her what did she do special on the day. Rayeema, with a perplexed look on her face, asked my friend: "What's special today? My friend told her: ".we got independence". She said happily: "Oh, is it? Is it showing in TV? Startled over the fact, my friend said: "Rayeema, this is our 67th Independence Day. It happened in 1947.". View my complete profile.

Raindrops: December 2012
http://ijustremember.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 29, 2012. The girl who fought the trauma inflicted on by rapists for 12 days finally gave up her battle. The government, giving in to compulsions from its people, may frame some more laws and wait for the Parliament's approval in the next session! Our daughters, sisters and mothers will keep falling victim to carnal desires of men. Some of the cases may reach the society through the media, some may not. What does he have to give to the society? Thursday, December 27, 2012. Even as prot...

Raindrops: Who do I vote for?
http://ijustremember.blogspot.com/2014/03/who-do-i-vote-for.html
Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Who do I vote for? Election fever has gripped the nation. Even personal meetings are sprinkled with queries like "Who will you vote for? I gave it a thought that dug out some incidents from the past. I would have taken care of the rest."! I turned back and saw the owner-of-the-hand guy looking the opposite direction as if he didn't know anything. A well-dressed guy with an executive bag! You want to expose that doctor at the cost of his life? I was muted. For I knew the pain ...

Raindrops: February 2013
http://ijustremember.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 18, 2013. Help their dreams realize. Recently, I was in bus, on way to office. A group of little kids studying in a nearby government school got in to the bus. Their uniforms showed evidences of playing out in the mud. The eldest one looked around 8 years old and the youngest one who was with a running nose looked around 5. I wished such a scenario unfolded in front of all those who oppose Right to Education Act. All kids have the right to dream big. Government is bound to fulfil...View ...

Raindrops: The olfactory mesmerizer
http://ijustremember.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-olfactory-mesmerizer.html
Sunday, July 21, 2013. It has always awed me - the olfactory magic. But two things triggered the thoughts now. One is the news about a camera that can capture the smell along with the images so that the person can get a feel of the place while going through the snaps. Another one is about a friend who lost her sense of smell after meeting with an accident. The fresh bundle of clothes that arrives from laundry carries with it the aroma of my grandmother's wardrobe where all her mundu. The smell of burning...

Raindrops: May 2014
http://ijustremember.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 26, 2014. Feb 21, 2012. On a pleasant morning in Pune, we drove to Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre, Khadki. My friend and then colleague Pradeep and his wife Sreerekha were with me. My anxiety grew as we neared PRC. I'm not going to meet an ordinary friend. I'm going to meet someone whom I have kept on a high pedestal. Someone who was brightening hundreds of lives around through his life that was burning down itself. I wrote to him in the email id Pradeep gave. It was full of my admirati...

Raindrops: September 2012
http://ijustremember.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 16, 2012. A moment for the farmers. Just two days ago I happened to see a man pushing a cart full of tomatoes, calling out “Rs 20 for. 8221; In a hot afternoon, he was sweating and struggling to push the loaded cart forward. He looked as if he hadn’t eaten since morning. Dressed in shabby clothes, torn in many places, all dirty and feet covered with mud, he would gain more sympathy than even a beggar on the street. His chappals too were broken and he was struggling to drag them along.

Raindrops: September 2014
http://ijustremember.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 9, 2014. Little joys no more. I would rush out, allowing the sizzling gravel on our front yard to burn my feet. I would be thrilled if he had more than one envelope to hand over to me. I would sit on the parapet of the verandah, oblivious of hens and the dirt now, and relish the letters one by one. A cunning craw may swoop down and snatch away the mango I kept half eaten. And it all ended with a ping in May this year, when I decided to join the smartphone brigade. Every now and the...
