Salisbury Library Service: Print on Demand
http://salisburylibrary.blogspot.com/2009/06/print-on-demand.html
Cheaper publishing costs have also seen the growth of Print on Demand services (PODs). With PODs books are only printed when the publisher receives an order. They also allow the buyer to choose the format of their purchase, do you want your book as an eBook, a cheap spiral bound copy or a deluxe hardback copy in large print? This makes obscure works easier to distribute and has also seen a growth in self publishing (check out Lulu. Note: only a member of this blog may post a comment. Links to other sites.

Salisbury Library Service: Libri Vox- more free eBooks
http://salisburylibrary.blogspot.com/2009/06/libri-vox.html
Libri Vox- more free eBooks. Is a collection of audio books created by volunteers reading works from the public domain. Quality of the readings varies and there's no rating system but it's a large, free collection. Some libraries in the US have been downloading these books onto Mp3 players and loaning them out to patrons. I'm not sure if all of these books are in the public domain in Australia but it's an interesting idea. Http:/ www.overdrive.com/. Http:/ www.oclc.org/audiobooks/default.htm.

Salisbury Library Service: Free and never out of print.
http://salisburylibrary.blogspot.com/2009/06/free-public-domain-books.html
Free and never out of print. Libri Vox was inspired by Project Gutenberg. A project aimed at making public domain books available for free download. Public domain books are also available for free download from Google Books. Google have also come to an agreement with publishers allowing users to download out of print books for a fee, making access to out of print books much easier and cheaper. If you are unfamiliar with Google Books check out the tutorial posted above: June 20 '09. Our photos from Picasa.
