The Call to the Caribbean: May 2013
http://matthewsinpr.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
The Call to the Caribbean. Sunday, May 5, 2013. How Does One Prepare for Haiti? How does one prepare for Haiti? We truly know nothing as we ought to. We are told that no man knows the mind of God except the Spirit of God. I go to Haiti not knowing what I’ll find this time, but what’s true is that I’ll find available hearts and hunger on many levels. Nothing really qualifies you for Haiti. It is an understatement to say that they have been diligent. I think of several students who come from 5-6 hours away.

The Call to the Caribbean: December 2013
http://matthewsinpr.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
The Call to the Caribbean. Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Every great work of sustaining value came to fruition tempered and distilled by preparation, and strategy. Omniscience and Omnipotence have no need for haste or flippant responses. Think with me as we closeout 2013 with thoughts of the birth and life of Christ. His was an unrushed life. The inter-testamental period (from the Old to the New Testament) marks 400 years of silence as they came under the Roman dominion. Well how much worse could it get?

The Call to the Caribbean: March 2015
http://matthewsinpr.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
The Call to the Caribbean. Saturday, March 7, 2015. How to keep Caribbean missions and the Matthew family in prayer this month. As we consider the last few months and those ahead, we wanted to give you a brief update and encourage you to pray for our family and Caribbean missions in specifics:. Will you lift all of the above in prayer? But His Word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones; and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not hold back."- -Jer. 20:9. The Call to the Caribbean: August 2013
http://matthewsinpr.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
The Call to the Caribbean. Sunday, August 25, 2013. Where Did it Go? Our family’s “summer” began when my husband returned from his May trip to Haiti, and proceeded to land in the hospital in Puerto Rico for 10 days. If you are accustomed to stateside medical care, you would not envy this experience. Not only was it scary because of his health challenges, but the hospital itself seemed dangerous…. MY hospital stay had left me exhausted! We also solved a “history mystery” or two as we found and...Our daugh...

The Call to the Caribbean: July 2012
http://matthewsinpr.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
The Call to the Caribbean. Sunday, July 8, 2012. Highly Suggestive of Malignancy. I spent the past seven weeks in a faith challenge like none I’ve encountered in my forty-one years. It began with a mammogram with bright papers stapled on the front. On the inside was the analysis, “highly suggestive of malignancy”. With the recommendation for a biopsy and excision, I figured fast action would be taken on my behalf, and consoled myself with my two previous benign biopsy results from 20 years ago. Yes, I wa...

The Call to the Caribbean. Wednesday, February 23, 2011. 8211; The Glorious Cross… And like Golgotha the only redeeming influence that can be envisioned for Haiti is the news of Calvary’s Cross. Some of us may come away so dumbfounded and mesmerized by its dramatic confluence that it will take the Holy Spirit to define the rewards of stepping out or becoming involved, by faith, with the dynamics of such places…. This was a successful trip, all the major things were accomplished:. Again, thanks to each on...

The Call to the Caribbean: February 2013
http://matthewsinpr.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
The Call to the Caribbean. Thursday, February 7, 2013. As We Travel to Dominican Republic and Haiti. My last trip brought back afresh the great need for us to partner with others to make the difference in the lives of those crying out and those silent because of fear. Though this was not my annual scheduled trip, I took the invitation to join Pastor Bill Cannon (missionary pastor to Haiti) in the country of the Dominican Republic. The two countries border each other on the island of Hispaniola. The cost ...
