Primary1C

Monday, 20 April 2015. Our Katie Morag topic went very well and primary 1 worked so hard. We practised our technology skills. We had to be very careful when we were using the saws. We put the wood into the vice and tightened it to hold it still. It was a little bit tricky to saw through the wood but we persevered. We designed a sail for our model and then our boats were complete. We used clay to make model lighthouses. We also completed some factual writing about lighthouses. Our topic was lots of fun, b...

Primary1C: January 2011

http://primary1ck.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, 27 January 2011. We have started a very busy term. Now that we are good with our sounds we are practising dictation and spelling to help us to write sentences of our own and we look forward to writing stories. In maths we are all good at using the materials to make addition sums. We enjoyed World of Work Week with two interesting visitors and a group challenge. It was very interesting learning about the different jobs people do the skills they need for them and how people earn money.

Sunday, 19 September 2010. Gladigator came to visit. We were very lucky to have a special (and giant) visitor in our school. The Gladigator came to visit us to tell us all about how to keep our teeth clean and why it is so important. He also brought with him an inflatable obstacle course which we all really enjoyed. Primary1C: December 2010

http://primary1ck.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Thursday, 9 December 2010. We are really enjoying the snowy weather. We have written some interesting news sentences about our adventures in the snow. We are having a really busy term practising for our Nativity play, we are singing beautifully and are looking forward to putting on our costumes. Some of us have been trying hard to remember our speaking parts. The snowy weather has prevented us from practising lots but Mrs Coyle is sure it will be 'all right on the night'. End of term reward.

Primary1C: Primary 1c Artwork

http://primary1ck.blogspot.com/2015/01/primary-1c-artwork.html

Monday, 26 January 2015. We looked at some work by the artist Natasha Wescoat recently and this has influenced our winter tree pictures. We started by choosing hot or cold colours for our background. When this was dry we were able to form our tree shape by tearing sugar paper to create the trunk and branches. When we were happy with our arrangement, we glued the pieces into place. That was when we added the swirls to our branches. We think they look fantastic. What do you think? Fun at the park.

The Primary Teacher's Blog - Blogs

The Primary Teacher's Blog. Follow or tweet me! This blog has come about because this September the class I received have had the most varied styles of teaching I can think of. I have them now in Year 5. Their Year 4 teacher was your classic, 'Knowledge is everywhere, collaborative, pupil freedom, self-taught, learning spaces, teacher sitting with pupils', I would say a Robin Williams reincarnate. Their Year 3 teacher was a cross between Mr Smith in. Mostly geriatric traditionalists drinking out of Miss ...
