So after more than 2 months of planning, submitting plans, more planning, adjusting plans, and finally coming up with a plan, we are finally building a detached garage/storage room to our yard. This will have an attic with plenty of storage space as our house has practically no storage space, and we will also be able to park two cars in our two car garage (who would have thought such a thing? Saturday, June 20, 2009. Olivia LOVES to lay in it and look at the mobile we got for it. She thinks its pretty neat that she has her own bed. Now if we can just get her to spend the nights in it. In these pictures I am sanding the crib in between coats of finish. This crib probably cost about 25%-40% more than a store bought one but I know the craftsmanship that went into it wasn't Chinese child labor and it is far more beautiful than anything I could have purchased without spending thousands.

Monday, August 25, 2008. Alright so this last weekend my dad came over Saturday morning and we started building walls. Mike came over for a few hours and we were grateful for his help! Sunday, October 05, 2008. I also built my first and only set of stairs in the garage which lead up to the attic space. This was quite a feat because if I messed them up it would make them difficult to climb and expensive to fix at the very least. But they turned out good, I think. After that we finished sheeting the rest of the roof and the tops of the walls. We ran several hundred feet of wire, dug trenches (YAY TRENCHING! Mandy Bennett (sister) said. Thursday, November 27, 2008. Well I have sucked really bad at keeping up with progress on the garage. It is nearly finished and basically waiting on a garge door (thanks Wasatch Doors! I owe my dad so much I don't even know what to do and I can say nothing more than "thanks! This is not to mention the trips to Home Depot, having him pick up 15 more bags of concrete for the ramp because he trusted me to do math (again) to figure how much we would need.and I was obviously WAY off! Monday, June 30, 2008. I think I got this, Bella! So after searching various webpages for a replacement rudder and centerboard with no luck, I decided that the easies way to fix the problem would be to build new parts out of solid mohogany. After several weeks and a few roadblocks I had the new parts shaped and ready to be coated. You can see by makeshift foundry out back in order to melt 25 lbs of lead to weigh the centerboard.
