Totally unmotivated at this point, I went to visit her, poured some wine, (this however was my undoing) and attempted to sew my first two rows together.hmm, the seams are not matching! Out came the quick unpick.to cut a long story short. The quick unpick came out again, I gave up, had more wine, had a sleep over, the quilt didn't get looked at again until yesterday. We were allowed to touch them anywhere except on their faces, they told us how they were made, and that they made their heads 20% larger than life size.I just can't quite remember why. Monday, October 18, 2010. What a month.this is my Nan and I in July this year, about a month after I brought her over from Perth to NSW to have her closer to me while she was in a Nursing Home. She was 90 in April in this year. I chose to use up the left over squares as the bind, as I had quite a few left, and just couldn't stand to waste them. So the bind was made up of alternated two and half inch white and coloured squares. Quite nice up against the white borders actually. Posted by Princess Martha.

I adapted it from another risotto recipe Mum had. 15 Litres (6 cups) chicken stock. 500g butternut or jap pumpkin cut into 2cm pieces. 1 tbsp olive oil. 2 smoked chorizo (340g), halved lengthways. 1 small brown onion, chopped finely. 1 clove garlic, crushed. 1 1/2 cups arborio rice. 1 tsp ground cumin. 1/2 cup (40g) finely grated parmesan cheese. I didn't even have a pattern for them. I also made a baby monkey for Emily's little sister. I was very happy with how they turned out. and Em loved them too.
