We weren't able to travel to the Brentwood Regatta this year, which was a disappointment since it was Kylie's last time rowing there and I never had a chance to go, but it was broadcast live on the internet. The Van Aken Family. Saturday, June 14, 2014. Presenting the Class of 2014! My second high school graduate! I'm telling you, once they start high school, it's all over! The time goes so fast you hardly know what day it is. Nat, Katie and Kylie, waiting for the ceremony to start. We sat right by the entrance where the graduates filed in and Ben jumped up to give Kylie a hug when she walked by. After the ceremony, it's picture time! The Van Aken Family. Saturday, April 4, 2015. This is the time of year we usually have to order a new box of bees since ours have died over the winter. But not this year! We harvested our first jar of honey this weekend! We've had a warm, early Spring and the hive is exploding. Brad went out to check on the bees and found the box full of honey already. The Van Aken Family. Saturday, November 30, 2013. We gave Grandpa Tom a new Carhartt work coat for his birthday. It was a little too big! This was his old coat. Kylie modeled the new one so we could see the obvious improvement, except for the size. Pointing out a special feature the new coat doesn't have! He couldn't stop laughing! I love how silly my dad can be! Everyone was very entertained by their show! Making a wish.maybe for a coat that fits a little better? Happy Birthday, Grandpa! It's a good one!

The Van Aken Family. Friday, April 3, 2015. Ben asked if we could try geocaching, so I downloaded the app and discovered there was a cache at Battlepoint right along our route. It took us a little while to figure out the whole compass/GPS thing, but after roaming around in the bushes for a while, we eventually we found our first cache! Lovely trees at Battlepoint.
