Now it's time to figure out where next! The trip (and meeting Bas - who has been so far on two wheels) convinced me that there is no better way to travel! You miss lots (anything outside of 5 or 10 km of the route you're taking), but you see so much more in the areas you do go to!

Today was the day I supposed I would blow through the interior of Nova Scotia (my camp is near the peak of the hills - so it's downhill to the coast from here) and then enjoy some beautiful coastal views from there! Prior Pedals to the Coast. Sunday, August 29, 2010. Day #14 - Riviere du Loup to Cabano. Well - today is when we hit the start of the hills - and apparently my nervousness about them is obvious.Bas has known me for less then 24 hours and says it's pretty obvious. But, I'm glad I've got someone to talk me through them - and besides - they can't be THAT bad, can they? In Cabano, the grocery store was on strike - so we did our shopping at dollarama - canned ham and spaghetti.mmmmm, dinner of champions!

Prior Pedals to the Coast. Sunday, September 5, 2010. Day 18 - Woodstock to Mactaquac. The St. John - right before the dogs. We 'lunched' at the World's largest axe - a tourist gimmic that Bas thought was awesome because of it's pure stupidity. We did our grocery shopping, got some lunch and hung out in the park near it. Then, did our touristy pictures and were on the road again. So confused - these maps aren't great, and Bas's GPS is more confusing me then helping right now. The Days So Far. 93 km, 3:44.

Prior Pedals to the Coast. Monday, September 6, 2010. Day 24 - Graves Island Provincial Park - Halifax (via Peggy's Cove). After the swim, there was some reasonably scenic portions before heading back inland to push towards the peninsula that Peggy's Cove is at the end of. A lot of hills here as well, and the ride sucked in terms of seeing things. But, eventually made the turn onto route 333 and the ride started to get a lot more interesting! The harbours and little fishing villages here are awesome!
