Gods of Plastic, shortened to GOP, is an ultimate frisbee team from Carleton College in Northfield, MN. After winning D3 Nationals in 2012, they commissioned me to design a disc commemorating their win. Much of their other visual design uses a motif riffing off the iconography of the Grand Old Party. Stars, stripes, elephants. All fair game.

Their regular branding was proving to be ineffective in the defense market so they reached out to me for a military specific identity. The logotype is derived from the excellent Gotham font family. Modified to support stenciled applications.

Over the summer of 2013, my brother hiked through the Colorado Trail from Denver to Durango. Over the 486 miles, he took over 3,000 photographs. Blue force gear is a soft goods manufacturer in the firearms and defense industries. They established themselves with a weapon sling that was adopted by the USMC as standard issue. Since then they have expanded their product line with a focus on light weight, simple, functional gear.

Mountain Project has been a leader for a online climbing guidebook with features people actually use paired with the Word 1997 template UX. Climb streamlines their platform features while losing the regrettable user interface. Climb also adds features that encourage users to get out and send that new challenge. Abstracted lineart shapes make up the icons in Climb.
