Tuesday, October 29, 2013. I recently finished some artwork for a friend of mine who is publishing some RPG books with Scaldcrow Press. This is a cover that I did for his 1930’s era pulp campaign setting. For me, one of the cooler aspects about this was that I did this almost entirely on my. Pressure sensitive stylus. The only thing I did on my desktop was some refinement on the coloring and adding some of the background. Posted by John Grigni. Links to this post. Thursday, October 24, 2013. The software...

Artist Kyle Lambert recently wowed the internet with this video of him painting an amazingly photorealistic portrait of Morgan Freeman, with nothing more than his fingers (and an iPad). Here’s the finished ‘painting’:. And here it is alongside the original photograph he copied from – can you tell which is which? See a large versions of Lambert’s work here here. And the original photograph by Scott Gries here. The picture took 200 hours and 285,000 brushstrokes to create using the $6.00 Procreate app.

Hey, it's Alex. Thoughts and Rants on Anything About Life. Juxtapose [February 28 2013]. A few weeks ago, I came across some stunning compositing work. From Michael Den Beste. The project juxtaposes drawings of Calvin and Hobbes. With fitting nature photographs. You can tell I felt inspired by that work. I also happen to take random unpublished pictures suited for such compositing work:. Original picture processed with Aperture, exported via Dropbox to iPad. On the iPad and my Pogo Connect.

A making things blog. Thursday 30 October 2014. I like the trompe l’oeil style ones that look creepy and realistic. My first attempt was a stitched up cut and I was really surprised how well it went. My first attempt with the paints. I took a photo of my arm then overlayed a photo of a skeleton on it. I used Procreate. Left to right: The two photos overlaid, drawing on the iPad, the design painted on skin.

Wednesday, April 3, 2013. So the updates have been quiet these days, but my illustration efforts have kicked off again, and now I can start posting and talking about it! On St Stephen's Green, who had an Irish Design holiday shop on their first floor. My attention was drawn to a display of Kovet. Click the image for full size. Click the link to see the case.). Julia Lundman: Digital Sketching | Leveling Up my Tablet
http://julialundmanmidlock.blogspot.com/2015/03/digital-sketching-leveling-up-my-tablet.html
Digital Sketching Leveling Up my Tablet. For a while now I've been sketching around town using my iPad. I like using a tablet for sketching when I am in situations where I cannot bring my usual pastel kit or oil painting kit for plein air studies. The iPad is light weight, fits in my bag, and can be whipped out without questions or funny looks just about anywhere. Sketching at the Art Institute of Chicago. Additionally, it seems, I've been waiting forever for Apple to upgrade the iPad to run OS X so that...
