http://susanlaughton.blogspot.com/2015/05/staithes-between-land-sea-and-sky.html
Tuesday, 5 May 2015. Staithes - between land, sea and sky. We have just had a lovely visit to the spectacular North Yorkshire coast, staying in the village of Staithes. We were invited by Stef and Ian Mitchell of Staithes Studios. Up on the cliffs the sky seemed huge as we walked along the Cleveland Way to Port Mulgrave and clambered down a very steep path to beach comb around a weather beaten shanty town of fishermens' huts. Susan Laughton Artist: A busy Private View at the RWA Drawn 2015
http://susanlaughton.blogspot.com/2015/03/a-busy-private-view-at-rwa-drawn-2015.html
Saturday, 21 March 2015. A busy Private View at the RWA Drawn 2015. We decided to 'pop' down to Bristol last night for the Private View of Drawn 2015. And Drawing On: The Ingram Collection of Modern British and Contemporary Art at the Royal West of England Academy. The M6 is not the best place to be on a Friday afternoon but we were glad we made the effort! Great to see lots of people filling the gallery and so many different approaches to drawing both traditional and contemporary.

Susan Laughton Artist: reflecting..
http://susanlaughton.blogspot.com/2015/01/reflecting.html
Monday, 26 January 2015. There has been some beautiful golden low winter sunlight recently, resulting in these little 15x15cm experiments with a bottle of gold Lascaux gouache that has been lurking in my paint cupboard for years. It has a lovely thick and velvety quality but can't easily be overpainted as it isn't waterproof when dry like acrylic. Worth persevering with I think? View my complete profile. Susan Laughton. Susan Laughton Artist: May 2014
http://susanlaughton.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Monday, 26 May 2014. Saturday, 3 May 2014. My painting finds a new home. Although I am always pleased when someone buys one of my paintings from a gallery (in this case the Columbia Road gallery. In Hackney) I also often feel sad because then I don't know who has bought it or where it's new home is. So it was a lovely surprise to be flicking through the Style Pages of the Times. Magazine today to see an article 'Tower of London' showing my painting At the end of the day II. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Susan Laughton Artist: August 2014
http://susanlaughton.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Monday, 4 August 2014. In the studio today. A quick pic of some little new paintings with the first layer of colours applied, ready for the drawing/etching in stage. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My paintings and drawings evolve from half-remembered glimpses seen from the corner of my eye, fleeting juxtapositions elusive to photography, the dislocated reverie of long car journeys, or from more studied compositions.
