Dan Ward's Blog: Dentists

http://projectbluelynx.blogspot.com/2007/10/dentists.html

Eclectic antics and observations on design, writing and demolishing the status quo. I like dentists just fine. Most of the ones I've known have been friendly and helpful. They make uncomfortable things in my mouth go away. That's nice. Very, very nice. But I hate. dental procedures. I don't know why, but I have a really tough time dealing with them. It's purely psychological, I know, but there's something about having someone work on my teeth that just makes my skin crawl. What's This Blog About?

Dan Ward's Blog: Humility & Integrity

http://projectbluelynx.blogspot.com/2007/10/humility-integrity.html

Eclectic antics and observations on design, writing and demolishing the status quo. The more I think about it, the more impressed I am by Barry Boehm. S willingness to disavow the "spiral development model" he created - not because he came up with a better theory or found a flaw in the documentation, but because nobody could actually do it correctly. That's a remarkable demonstration of integrity and humility. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). What's This Blog About? Muffin Films - Funny and Yummy.

Dan Ward's Blog: The Enough Movement

http://projectbluelynx.blogspot.com/2007/08/enough-movement.html

Eclectic antics and observations on design, writing and demolishing the status quo. I have enough. I will keep striving, because to strive is an essential part of being human, but I am not going to strive for. And in the relatively near future I'm hoping to put it together in some sort of coherent, comprehensive-ish form. Maybe a manifesto on ChangeThis. For now, I'll just post a few bits and pieces here and there. Idea is fundamentally about three things: contentment, gratitude. He also wrote "the essen...

Dan Ward's Blog: Measurements

http://projectbluelynx.blogspot.com/2007/10/measurements.html

Eclectic antics and observations on design, writing and demolishing the status quo. I took the AF physical fitness test yesterday and scored another 2.5 points higher than last time. Happy with the outcome. I maxed the pushups and situps and lost an inch on the "abdominal circumference" measurement. BMI), just out of curiosity. For those who don't know, the BMI is basically a ratio of height and weight. My BMI is 27.6. Anything over 25 is considered "overweight." But here's the thing:...Yes, there are a ...

Dan Ward's Blog: Roosevelt's Hero Tales

http://projectbluelynx.blogspot.com/2007/10/roosevelts-hero-tales.html

Eclectic antics and observations on design, writing and demolishing the status quo. We are the richer for valor displayed alike by those who fought so valiantly for the right, and by those who, no less valiantly, fought for what they deemed the right. We have in us nobler capacities for what is great and good because of the infinite woe and suffering, and because of the splendid ultimate triumph. I'd love to hear what you think. I've also been expecting a post about that too. What's This Blog About?

In Wheaton, Md., is a reference library of around 4,000 volumes on horticulture for adults and children, If you visit, you’ll have to share the bench in the visitor center with this fellow. https://washingtondcdailyphoto.wordpress.com/2006/09/27/beware-of-the-bleagle

City Daily Photo Links. Beware of the … bleagle. Marie McC posted a closeup of this strange creature last week on Alexandria Daily Photo. Since we both shot pictures of him at the same time, I’m sure she won’t mind if I post one too. Here he is on a column, guarding his owners’ house. He’s a chimera a mythical beast made up of parts of several animals. This one seems to have b. At’s wings, a l. Ion’s head and body, and eagle. City Daily Photo Links. This shot is for Elisabeth. Who likes statues she can interact with. If Elisabeth finds that Kermit. Isn’t the greatest conversationalist, maybe she’d prefer to sit next to this colonial gentleman (whoever he is). But unless she’s friends with the owners of this private house in Alexandria, She’ll have to content herself with looking at him through the railings, as I did. City Daily Photo Links. Sudden in a shaft of sunlight*. I was sitting outside a service station on Friday, on the only bit of curb that wasn’t oilstained, waiting for my car to go through Virginia state inspection and idly watching a cop pulling over hapless speeders, when the sun came out and lit up this tree. 8221;Sudden in a shaft of sunlight. Even while the dust moves. There rises the hidden laughter. Of children in the foliage. Quick now, here, now, always. Ridiculous the waste sad time. Transall: Z...

Eclectic antics and observations on design, writing and demolishing the status quo. New Blog and Email. I originally created this blog as part of a little mentoring experiment I called Project Blue Lynx - thus the name. It turned into more of a personal blog, but there I was, stuck with the name and address. Similarly, I created a gmail account (RPLeditor) to handle stuff for Rogue Project Leader, my online webzine. Come on over and check it out! Figured it was time to update my photo. He liked it, and s...
