Sunday, May 11, 2008. More cutting, preparation for rear diffuser. I began cleaning up the underside of the car in preparation for the rear diffuser and undertray. Setupit's pretty bare underneath now! I cut off the existing muffler (which was some aftermarket setup that the previous owner had) and made some exhaust turndowns. From the leftover bits to direct the exhaust away from the suspension. I had already removed the spare tire well, see a previous post. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Monday, April 14, 2008. Fenders are rough-trimmed and pinned! Lots of progress over the weekend- I even cleaned out the garage and chipped some epoxy from the concrete floor.hopefully when I do one of those garage-floor painting kits it'll cover most of the spots. Anyway- the fenders are all pinned on with Cleckos so I can do my final fitting and trim. The car is starting to look pretty good, even though it's 4 different colors. I guess I need to do some testing first. I will be watching for updates!

Thursday, May 22, 2008. The diffuser is taking shape! The rear diffuser if finally taking shape.I've had to redesign it a few times after it started out way too big. Functionally it would've been awesome, but it looked ridiculous. Now it still looks ridiculous, just less :). Here it is temporarily mounted for fitting. Friday, May 2, 2008. I completed the door skins, made from a Carbon/Kevlar composite. I used Kevlar for the inner layer to protect the driver from shards of carbon in case the doors are destroyed. I was able to do the whole layup in my driveway since we're having nice weather.although the neighbors seem to frown upon a guy in his driveway wearing a Tyvek suit and respirator. All hose is Earl's Prolite. 350 with Earls swivel tite. Yes, I know the computer is held on with a spring clip.I have to fabricate a proper mount. :). Monday, October 26, 2009. So I've been spending many hours in the shop getting Mr T. (my Tracker) back on the road. Now it has a different engine, a new turbo setup, an 8000 lb winch, a spool in the rear, and it is pretty sweet! Oh, I also painted the hood camo. A nice touch I think. Tuesday, December 16, 2008. I got the Beast running well one day.the next time I start it, it runs like garbage! So I decided it has to do with the fuel pump. It ran fine at 30psi fuel pressure, then the day it ran poorly it was at 15-20psi. Today I dropped the fuel tank. Man this thing is RUSTY EVERYWHERE! It needs fuel flow to do that. I cleaned the filter, dumped out the gas:. And cleaned the tank. I regapped the plugs, put $3.40 of gas in it and away she goes! Evidence of the drive today:.

Saturday, November 29, 2008. The Beast - Progress. Well, Here are some pics of the progress I've made (mostly today). I put a new bumper on the front, new bumper on the back, relocated the spare tire, and ripped out the carpet. Below: a little bit of a suprise under the carpet! Sunday, November 23, 2008. The Green Beast Lives! So I reinstalled the injector and voila! It now runs great. Man - I'm kicking myself for messing that up. But really.it's all good now! Monday, November 17, 2008.

Sunday, October 19, 2008. Today I found a website that has the exact principles of my idea for Mr T but think inverted. Control Arm Modification. Friday, October 10, 2008. New Toy, well. Not entirely true. Not really new. But I picked it up for $100 at the end of this last winter (2008). A real beast. Someone did a frame drop to it, giving it 6 inches of lift.
