Trauma - Project Hopeful
http://www.projecthopeful.org/trauma
Why “Overlooked”. Walk on Water Guatemala. Mission Trips (Bringing HOPE). You knew adoption wouldn’t be easy. Or maybe you thought it would be. Just look around lots of families are adopting. You know these families from church, from school, or maybe just dance class or the playground. It was easy for them they look like happy, normal families. So maybe you’re wondering why isn’t it easy for us? Are we doing something wrong? So what IS IT, then? Trauma is losing a parent, even if you are too young to hav...
Education (Bringing Truth) - Project Hopeful

Why “Overlooked”. Walk on Water Guatemala. Mission Trips (Bringing HOPE). Project HOPEFUL was founded in 2007 to bring truth to the world about caring for and raising children with HIV. We sought to eradicate stigma so overlooked children would no longer be left behind. Since that time, one area of our focus has been education about caring for and parenting children with special needs. Caring for Children with HIV. Caring for Children with Down syndrome. Walk on Water Guatemala. 2014 Project HOPEFUL NFP.
Why Overlooked - Project Hopeful
http://www.projecthopeful.org/why-overlooked
Why “Overlooked”. Walk on Water Guatemala. Mission Trips (Bringing HOPE). The Bible instructs us to care for the least of these. Since its first days advocating for HIV positive children and educating the adults who are considering caring for them, Project HOPEFUL has remained focused on this mandate. However, over the past few years, our vision for and definition of the least of these has grown. And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? Walk on Water Guatemala.

Why “Overlooked”. Walk on Water Guatemala. Mission Trips (Bringing HOPE). Nov 26, 2010. People living with HIV around the world are stigmatized because of lack of knowledge about transmission facts. We shared a link. On the blog of just one child’s story. But there are countless untold stories you and I will never hear about. Orphans in other nations aren’t the only ones being stigmatized in their communities. Project HOPEFUL knows stigma MUST end in 2010! And we couldn’t be prouder of the results! The n...

Losing It!: February 2013
http://meanmamalosingit.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Not even sure what to call this. Apparently February is attachment month. We came home from our weekend at my parent's on Monday night in time for Ladybug to get into a shower and crawl in bed. I unpacked and did a few chores while she was in the shower. After a few minutes I heard a thud and went into the bathroom. Me: Honey, what is wrong? Ladybug: I. don't. want. to die! What did I miss? Ladybug: I don't want to die. Me: You are not dying. Honey, what is this about? So La...
Losing It!: Life has stopped
http://meanmamalosingit.blogspot.com/2013/07/life-has-stopped.html
Wednesday, July 10, 2013. I haven't been writing because there is nothing interesting happening in my life. I have run out of things to write about. That's all there is. I haven't been writing because I am overwhelmed. Life is . stressful. Ladybug finished 2nd grade. With fantabulous grades. Everything was going great. Well, not really. But I like to live in the land of delusion. And with that I think it is time for me to go to bed. So much more is happening. But I make no promises about blogging. Foster...
Losing It!: Financials
http://meanmamalosingit.blogspot.com/2013/05/financials.html
Friday, May 31, 2013. May has been a great month financially. And the timing might be perfect. I get paid every other week. This means 26 pay checks. This means twice a year, I get 3 pay checks in a month - instead of the normal 2. This is helpful. Almost like extra money. Because the other 10 months I have to live on 2 pay checks. May is a 3 pay check month this year. I love 3 pay check months. Extra money. In April I paid off a huge chunk of my other credit card. Yes, I only have 2 credit cards....
Losing It!: Driving
http://meanmamalosingit.blogspot.com/2013/05/driving.html
Wednesday, May 15, 2013. I feel like I have a lot to say. And because I have a bad case of verbal vomit, I also seem to have a case of writer's block. So I am starting with a light hearted story first. Last weekend I decided to go visit my mom. It was mother's day, after all. So after work on Friday, I headed out for the short 3.5 hour drive. Michelle, my trusted GPS, was on and in the car. I drove about 2 hours, down the regular path. So I was driving and checking on the GPS. Am I suppose to carry that?
adopting ruby: March 2011

Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Wellkind of. First thing this morning my phone rang, and sure enough it was our case worker, Lesley. I listened for the sound of tears in her voice, but she definately sounded as though she was holding it together (good for her! Now, 24 hours after devising a rather elaborate plan to move our entire family to Uganda for 4-6 weeks (which a dear friend assured me was an utterly crazy thing to do), we are back on track and almost ready to submit our dossier to ETHIOPIA! I generally ...

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14. I turned 40 this month. I’m relatively sure that I was 20 just a few days ago. And even though time seems to move too quickly, I wouldn’t go back. At each turning of the age clock, I have celebrated and moved forward. I really do not wish for days gone by–moments maybe–but not entire days. Celebrating 40 years has caused me to reflect and recognize a few things about my life and me.

Project Hope For Life
Project Hope for Life Teamet. Idag har hela gruppen vakn...

Project HOPEFUL Blog
March 19, 2014. Recently, something pretty amazing happened. Something that surpassed any expectation I ever had for any of our HOPE sisters. I met Gertrude the first time in March 2012. She was an HIV widow whose life was hard….very hard. She often didn’t have enough to feed herself and her son and she struggled to pay school fees. I have literally watched hope grow inside Gertrude over the past 2 years. Her eyes speak a joy I could only dream of having. Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or ...

Why is it that people, generally, have to label everything? Is it to help us understand or judge? To give us an opprotunity to help or gossip? June 13, 2012.
