Wednesday, November 29, 2006. Or "If you had a party and you can invite anyone you want, describe what would happen and who would be invited? As weird as these essay questions are, the answers are fun to write if you have a great (yet sarcastic) sense of humor. It's also a way for you, as an applicant, to let the college get to know you through your writing style and sense of being. This now comes to the Facebook event that advertises the actual physical protest which will take place this Friday at noon ...

Tuesday, January 30, 2007. Looking for good places to eat. So I've been trying to find a website that offers good recommendations for restaurants. Alas, all the restaurants I found online on such websites were either terrible or not "French" enough. Up until now, I've been depending on hours of perusing through foodie blogs to find restaurants that I want to dine at or through friends who force me to go to these restaurants. Wednesday, March 28, 2007. Last summer, I remember having a conversation with a UChicago alum about having a mobile community based on avatars as an upcoming trend. Now it is March 28th, and NextGreatThing. Basically echoes that sentiment. With the huge popularity of avatar-driven social networking sites such as Second Life and Cyworld, it has only been a waiting game until mobile handset technology enables us to view and care for our avatars on our mobile screens. Tuesday, October 31, 2006. More adventures with mylo. So I took it for a full test run on campus. Alas, I discovered more things wrong with this device. First of all, the UChicago campus is not entirely wireless. Instead, there are numerous wi-fi access points scattered across campus. Therefore, I can't really use this device to communicate in b/w classes b/c I am outside where there are no wi-fi access points. Stuff that was pretty cool (conceptually). The What's Up feature seems so promising, but I don...

Unfortunately, I have been a victim of theft or utter carelessness as my camera got lost/stolen between my train ride to Prague and my walk to the hostel. Friday, September 29, 2006. Microsoft to take on Facebook and MySpace. After unsuccessfully trying to get the "in" to Facebook and MySpace, Microsoft decides to battle these two social networking behemoths with its own social networking site, Wallop. Like Cyworld, Wallop is assuming that users want to outdo other users in site customization, so these users will buy as many "mods" as possible to have their profiles shine. As a result, there are no ads and banners on its site. Posted by Koh @ 4:44 PM.
