Project Procrastination

An Avoidant's Guide to Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Triathlon. Monday, September 23, 2013. Back in April, my sister-in-law approached me with an offer - would I like to be the Race Director for the KMCR? Well, as a runner for over two decades, and the aunt to this young boy after whom the race is named, the answer certainly was an easy one. The planning had taken about 7-8 months, and the race kicked off this past Saturday. My in-laws (me and Matthew are on the end). K's mom and sister. As for the actu...

Project Procrastination: February 2011

http://projectprocrastination.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

An Avoidant's Guide to Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Triathlon. Friday, February 25, 2011. In Which I Grow Up. A couple posts ago, I referred to Robert Pattinson as “Robert Patterson.” Whatever. You say tomato, I say tamato. The “Twilight” guy was who I was referring to. Ah shit, man - I can’t be bothered with the insignificant details of pop culture these days. Because I’ve got an IRONMAN to train for! Yeah – I does. I am participating in Ironman Madison 2011. So this year (2010), I volunteered at the ...

So I had planned to do a super awesome post on my sister's first marathon (GO Ellen! But I am short on time at the moment because this week of work SUXXXXXX. So unfortunately that post will have to wait until this work week eventually spits me back out come Friday. Well, hold on - let me reign in my overdramatics here for a second. Not this fatty.). As in - 4 weeks?

An Avoidant's Guide to Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Triathlon. Sunday, March 11, 2012. It's, uh, been quite a while, eh? Truth told, I tried posting twice before - with weeks worth of daily updates on the fitness front. But blogger ate them up before they actually published, leading to a string of curses and me breaking up with it. But now I'm back. Let's see if this actually takes this time. So, what's been happening in this corner of the blog world? As for my fitness? I was doing well for a few weeks...

Es Tri's: How this craziness began...

http://myironmanswitzerland2009.blogspot.com/2008/10/how-this-craziness-began.html

Sunday, October 5, 2008. How this craziness began. Become addicted to triathlons and there is no 12-step program. As a result, I decided to join a team of other triathlon addicted folks so I could share the sweet, sweet misery. I ran into Team Z at a race in 2007 and noticed they were eating cheeseburgers and drinking beer near the finish line. Say no more – I knew this team was for me. Sprint: 750 meter swim, 15 mile bike, 3.1 mile run – give or take. In 2010. Then I met Jason…. Jason is a teammate who ...

Es Tri's: Freezin’ For A Reason – Polar Plunge “Race" Report

http://myironmanswitzerland2009.blogspot.com/2010/02/freezin-for-reason-polar-plunge-race.html

Wednesday, February 24, 2010. Freezin’ For A Reason – Polar Plunge “Race" Report. This past Saturday was the Freezin’ For A Reason Polar Plunge. To raise money for Camp Sunshine. I also prepared my “race” outfit that consisted of sparkly tights, a skirt, bathing suit top, a cape, red mask, red swim cap, and some gloves. That’s right, I was going to plunge as a Superhero…an IRONWOMAN to be exact (cape said FEXX – FE=Iron, XX=Female). IT WAS F-ING COLD. SERIOUSLY F-ING COLD. Unofficially - I won. I mea...

Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, United States. View my complete profile. Monday, January 5, 2009. I Started. Again. I did it. I started my training again. There's no turning back now, because I only have 17 weeks to train for the LaCrosse Marathon. This week, I'm doing three fairly easy 2 mile runs (on the treadmill of course) just to get back into the swing of things. Thanks to Carol for pointing me to her blog post. I did my first exhaustion test on Saturday, and I was only able to complete 35 good-form push u...

Staple it Together: I'm a loser baby so why don't you kill me

http://stapleittogether8.blogspot.com/2008/07/im-loser-baby-so-why-dont-you-kill-me.html

Tuesday, July 22, 2008. I'm a loser baby so why don't you kill me. What do you do when you get on the scale after two weeks of healthy eating and early morning exercise and STILL see no weight loss. I do not know what YOU do. Eat two tubs of weight watchers ice cream. Three WW toffee bars. Drink a big glass of cheap Pinot Gris. Feel sorry for myself. And refuse to workout the next morning. I think I managed to eradicate every mentally and physically healthy aspect of my life in about 12 hours. July 23, 2...

From Fat to Fit: June 2009

http://not2late2start.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

From Fat to Fit. Tuesday, June 2, 2009. My daughter, Maddy, was asked to be on the tournament team for softball. She has worked hard and has improved a lot from last year. She is showing some promise as a pitcher but she also is doing really well with her fielding. We need to work on her batting but that will come in time. We watched a professional women's softball game last weekend. It motivated her. That is all for now. I am just so proud of her. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

http://not2late2start.blogspot.com/2009/04/crazy-legs-this-weekend.html

From Fat to Fit. Tuesday, April 21, 2009. Crazy Legs this weekend. This Saturday is the 28th annual Crazy Legs race in Madison. My foot continues to feel good so I am going to run the 5 mile race. I hope the weather improves because today it is cold, raining, and yes, snowing. Busy weekend as my son makes his first communion on Sunday and we will have a houseful of family. I will finish and cross the finish line. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sun Prairie, WI, United States. View my complete profile.
