The road from teacher to web developer. MakerSquare – I finished! October 9, 2014. In the last two weeks of class, I put together an app called Sprinklr. In addition to the academic research to correctly suggest watering amounts, I used many new-to-me tools to complete this app. I used Sidekiq. To geolocate users and weather stations and match them up by location. I set up Twilio. I am a teacher turned web developer. Currently attending MakerSquare's immersive full-stack bootcamp. The road from teacher to web developer. MakerSquare – Week 3. August 3, 2014. I can’t believe we’ve already finished week 3! It’s hard to believe we’re 1/4 of the way through. The big question on mentor night that was asked over and over again was, “Are you more interested in front end or back end? So, what happened on Thursday? I am a...

The road from teacher to web developer. July 30, 2014. This weekend, I attended Austin NodeBots Day. It was an exceptional experience. My husband, Sean, and I signed up together. Our plan was for him to focus on the hardware, and I would work on the software. It was a great way for us to work on a project together, but each focus on our individual strengths. As our board, and had a kit to build a SumoBot. We had some problems with the Spark wi-fi cloud connection timing out through the day, but typic...
