The Gamer's Workbench: June 2011
http://thegamersworkbench.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
The mad ravings of another 40K gamer. Thursday, June 16, 2011. The thing that you really walk away form this story understanding is Vulkan is a life saver and not a life taker. He for lack of a better term is the most "human" of the primarchs. He is sort of the proof of nature vs nurture. He has great power and is a strong leader but not a tyrant because of it. I give it a 3.5 out of 5. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. REVIEW: AoS Sylvaneth Battletome.

The Gamer's Workbench: August 2011
http://thegamersworkbench.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
The mad ravings of another 40K gamer. Tuesday, August 9, 2011. Book Review - Chapter's Due. Just finished Chapter's due, the 'final' book in the Uriel Ventris Ultramarine book series. This one does a great job of cleaning up all the loose ends for the other books and brings a satisfying end to them in the process. This is a nice change from some of the other 40K books where story lines end without coming to a final conclusion. This is a good read and does a good job bringing the series to an end. The hor...

The Gamer's Workbench: April 2011
http://thegamersworkbench.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
The mad ravings of another 40K gamer. Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Big Bag O Magnets. If anything is true about war gamers it is we love magnets. They make things so much easier. Why built to models to get all the options and weapon combinations when you can magnetize and get them all in the same model. So a quick call to Amazing Magnets. And 2 days later a box full of them arrived. Besides the normal specifically sized magnets I routinely get, this time I added in their 1/2 pound used-magnet grab bags.

The Gamer's Workbench: Laser cut Bolt pistol ready for use
http://thegamersworkbench.blogspot.com/2012/03/laser-cut-bolt-pistol-ready-for-use.html
The mad ravings of another 40K gamer. Monday, March 12, 2012. Laser cut Bolt pistol ready for use. After several tweaks and changes and 5 test builds the plans are now complete. This has been a learning experience in materials quality, materials thickness, power setting and how the laser focus effects cutting width. It is funny how many little factors really go into the design. I know it is a Bolter and not a Bolt Pistol, but it is a cool picture. Shown upside down because the handle is not attached.

http://thegamersworkbench.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
The mad ravings of another 40K gamer. Thursday, February 23, 2012. Lasercut Bolt Pistol Prototype. The prototype is a mix of cardboard and cloroplast. Both work well for prototyping because they are easy to cut and cheap. They are slightly thinner than the 0.25 inch material the design is for but it doesn't really effect the testing too much. Now to hit the hardware store for some 0.25 MDF and acrylic. Links to this post. Monday, February 20, 2012. First laser project done. Links to this post. Well it lo...

The mad ravings of another 40K gamer. Friday, December 30, 2011. Foam cutting table overview and possible redesign. A couple of years ago I posted a video on my YouTube channel of a foam cutting table. 1/2 inch wide aluminum bar stock. Wood battens, I used some scraps of 1x2 but anything up to 2x4 will work. The small stuff is just easier to work with. Laminate topped wooden board, mine is a counter top off cut. An old laminate shelf at least 12 inches deep would also work. Eyelet screws and bolts. The p...
