Providence Farms

Wednesday, October 26, 2011. It's Been a Great Summer! This sure has been one wild summer.where the weather is concerned. Very dry and very hot about sums it all up! I can't remember ever being soooo hot for soooo long! It was our first year without our oldest children farming with us and proved challenging making all the adjustments. The Lord blessed us with our daughter-in-law continuing to stay with us and we wonder what we would do without her! Maybe you'll see more of her next year at markets? Yummy...

Providence Farms: January 2010

http://providencefarmsofmo.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Wednesday, January 27, 2010. Trying to Stay Warm on the Farm. Here on the farm, we have to keep those precious little seedlings warm all the time. Even at night! That job falls on my husband, Gerry. The 4 boys are quite busy every day trying to keep up with the demand of wood. It seems those 300 gallon barrel stoves have an incredible appetite at night. Especially when it is below zero. These are the times that my girls and I are quite happy to be females! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Newman family fa...

http://providencefarmsofmo.blogspot.com/2011/06/dog-days-of-summer.html

Sunday, June 19, 2011. Dog Days of Summer! Talk about warm weather.Missouri is sure letting us have it this month. Not only hot but very humid as well. It's taking it's toll on those of us who are fighting the heat to get the vegetables picked. We're plugging away at it though because we know everyone still needs to eat! The tomatoes are coming on strong and are beautiful and delicious! I love summer and all it's flavors! Labels: Dog Days of Summer. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Dog Days of Summer!

Providence Farms: In the Full Swing of Summer

http://providencefarmsofmo.blogspot.com/2011/08/in-full-swing-of-summer.html

Sunday, August 14, 2011. In the Full Swing of Summer. Wow has this summer been hot! We're busy planting seedlings for the fall and they are looking great. We're getting ready to plant them in the field soon. We're also trying at the same time to clean up the fields from crops that are finished. That means pulling dead plants, tilling and re-laying plastic and drip tape for the next crops. Labels: In the Full Swing of Summer. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). We are a family of 12!

Sunday, March 28, 2010. Market time is almost here! It seems like it has been a long winter. We're excited by joining several new markets and starting one of our own! The previous blog lists our new CSA. If you just enlarge it you will find it most useful this summer. Here is a list of the markets we will be participating in this summer. Between the McDonalds and Shell Gas Station right off the interstate. Crowleys Furniture Mart Parking Lot. Illius Davis Park Farmer's Market. Green Acres parking lot.
