Provident and Healthy Living. Tuesday, August 11, 2009. Freezing Corn and Zucchini. I have been a busy bee. Someone gave me a nice harvest of corn and zucchini. I got my husband on board (a very smart thing to do) and he's been helping me freeze it all. THINGS I HAVE LEARNED:. 1) Two working in concert together to prepare food for storage is so much better than one. 4) Quick bread freezes beautifully just wrapped in aluminum foil. Don't try to food saver it. It squishes it down big time.

Monday, June 25, 2012. I miss my kitchen - badly! William has worked so hard on it. We found knob and tube wiring in our kitchen ceiling (we ripped down both the drop ceiling and the plaster ceiling) which is very old wiring which was still being used. So, we're getting rid of it. Sunday, August 5, 2012. We tore down two walls since the last post because one wall didn't have insulation in it (it was an outdoor wall) and one had birds nests behind it. Ha, that's what you get with a 100 year old home. I've painted a radiator and have two more to go. Hopefully this week all the painting will be done in the kitchen.
