Tiny Nice Things: February 2015
http://tinynicethings.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
I must say that I'm super proud of how this Moss Skirt has turned out! I been wearing it at least twice a week :) If you remember, I had to do some crazy arrangements in my last Moss Skirt. And the truth is that I hardly never wear it, may be is going to be more wearable on summer. Sewing this pattern is a pleasure, I really enjoyed sewing it. The floral fabric that I've used (as you can maybe notice) is from the upholstery section. La tela que escogí es de la sección de tapicería. Las Teje y Maneje.

Tiny Nice Things: October 2014

A wearable muslin: Green Moss Skirt. Today I present you my first Moss Skirt, the pattern is from. As soon as I can I'm going to sew a second version, since I love to wear this kind of skirts with tights during the winter. Luckily, I had on mind to sew a muslin first, not very typical of me. I don't know how I measured myself, but I did it totally wrong. I cut a 4, and that's obviously not my size. At the end, I added two bands in each side, I thing that it's still wearable. Hecho por mí y para mí :).

Musing with Max: November 2014
http://musingwithmax.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
November 28, 2014. Our Thanksgiving forecast went something like this: Cold, snow, cold, snow, etc, etc . Temperatures were due to plummet on Tuesday night, going from a balmy fifty something to 30F. Wednesday morning would greet us with freezing rain which would then turn to snow as the temperatures dropped sometime in the afternoon. Depending on where you were the accumulations varied greatly: New York City, a slushy 1 to 3 inches; Northwestern New Jersey 6 to 12; everybody else, somewhere in between.

Musing with Max: March 2015
http://musingwithmax.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
March 29, 2015. S’Wonderful Part deux. I grew up watching musicals . I have probably seen every Fred Astaire-Ginger Rogers movie at least 10 times, probably more. The King and I, South Pacific, On The Town, Singing In the Rain, Can Can, The Music Man, The Sound of Music. I could go on and on and on. Coming home from school my first thought was what was playing on the 4 o'clock movie, hoping for a musical. I never ever tire of them. For some strange reason I always resisted "An American in Paris". I immed...

Musing with Max: January 2015
http://musingwithmax.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
January 25, 2015. On a Winter's Day. Yesterday morning I woke up, looked out the window and saw this . Everything covered in a beautiful blanket of fluffy virgin white snow. It fell in that way that somehow looks fake, like if it was painted on, covering every branch, every pine leaf, every surface. It was early enough where no one had yet trudged all over it and no one had gone out to shovel. The world was suddenly black and white. And it was Saturday. No California dreamin' here. Or maybe some gumbo!

July 6, 2014. Summer reading and eating. Mediterranean Summer" by David Shalleck. An autobiographical account of a chef cooking on a huge yacht which is cruising the Mediterranean one Summer. I am transported to the South of France,. And craving an Aioli platter. And for dessert scrumptiously creamy vanilla bean ice cream. I love cruising the Mediterranean! Even if it's on dry land. May 30, 2015. A few months ago while visiting Alicia at Prunus. I clicked over to a blog she was recommending . Jorge Bayo. His prose is poetic, lyrical and from the heart. I was immediately enthralled and added him to my blog list. In addition to being a wonderful wordsmith he is an artist, a painter, which isn't surprising. His medium is watercolor, my favorite. His paintings are soft, sensitive, slightly undefined as watercolor tends to be, somewhat other worldly. I hit the send button and completely ...

Musing with Max: October 2014
http://musingwithmax.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
October 16, 2014. Best meal you've ever had. Frank and I had gone to Mendoza, Argentina, which is wine country. We stayed at a beautiful bed and breakfast - vineyard in a town called Chacras de Coria. What made it so memorable though was the entire experience, all the ingredients MFK Fisher talks about were there, and I'll add one more, it was unexpected. I have no pictures and I'll make it short. Best meal I've ever had. Max just for the heck of it). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.
