Normally I avoid running because it hurts and I feel like I’m going to die – but maybe I’m just doing it wrong. One girl's journey from couch to marathon. But what if i fall……. October 26, 2014. 1 Getting sick before the marathon, not being able to compete and having to watch it all unfold on the TV from bed (as a generally sickly person, this is not an unreasonable concern). 2 Not eating enough before the race, being starving most of the way and not able to complete due to sheer stupidity. 3 Eating too much before the race and needing the bathroom the whole way (sorry but clearly it’s an issue! 6 Being too cold.
