KGBirmelin: September 2013
http://katguevara45.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
To contact Kat drop her a line at katguevara@ymail.com. Monday, September 30, 2013. Month of Fear: Week 1. It's been a while since I posted anything to my blog, and a lot of things are changing for me. I have also opened up shop on Etsy, selling pin up prints and offering commissions as well. Check that out here. But now onto the reason for this post. There is an online challenge going on over here. Week 1's challenge is 'What Lives Under Your Bed? And so here you have it, a young girl creeping to the en...

http://katguevara45.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
To contact Kat drop her a line at katguevara@ymail.com. Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Mighty Mugg WIP: Part 2. So this far into customizing my mugg I have already modified the figure with sculpy clay, primed, and sanded it. That means I'm ready to start painting. First I start off by taking a look at the color study I already have laid out. Once again, that means the image below:. I want to mention that I didn't draw on any of the details prior to painting them on. Since I have my original mugg designs ou...
KGBirmelin: November 2011
http://katguevara45.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
To contact Kat drop her a line at katguevara@ymail.com. Monday, November 21, 2011. Here's a couple of sketches of some things I'm tinkering around with. The first is a character from a story a friend and I wrote a while back, the second is an idea for what could be a MTG card of an angel. I like the angel sketch, but I'm not really feeling the armor so I'll probably tweak that some more, and I'm thinking about doing some kind of a Celtic knot pattern in her halo. Tuesday, November 1, 2011. Which lead me ...
KGBirmelin: Month of Fear Catch Up
http://katguevara45.blogspot.com/2013/10/month-of-fear-catch-up.html
To contact Kat drop her a line at katguevara@ymail.com. Thursday, October 24, 2013. Month of Fear Catch Up. So for the past week I was away in Chicago visiting my family and making an appearance at The American Academy of Art to give a lecture on the importance of networking. Thanks to the Academy for having me, and it was nice to see some old faces. While I was gone I was unable to post the last two week's challenges so I will do so now. Pickman's Model. Watercolor on Bristol. Like most things, my art c...

To contact Kat drop her a line at katguevara@ymail.com. Thursday, October 31, 2013. This post raps up my parallel postings to #monthoffear. We leave off with Halloween memories. I don't really have any ones that particularly stand out in my mind, but there is a sort of ritual that has developed over the years in my life during the holiday. Of course I was excited to come up with an idea for a costume, and get free candy. S, or In A Dark, Dark Wood. Tuesday, October 29, 2013. I had just come out of the ve...
KGBirmelin: August 2012
http://katguevara45.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
To contact Kat drop her a line at katguevara@ymail.com. Friday, August 24, 2012. So I'm back from Gen Con, which was a total blast since I took a big step away from volunteering to run much for my game group, which freed up my time to do some other things. I got to walk the floor in the dealer hall and chat with people a bit more as well as hang out with a good buddy of mine when schedules allowed. Mighty Muggs on Display. So my focuses will be narrowing down quite a bit in terms of portfolio work, and w...
lOverO zOne: The Single Desired Effect
http://loverozone.blogspot.com/2012/07/single-desired-effect.html
Sunday, July 1, 2012. The Single Desired Effect. I’ve read and listened to Stephen King’s On Writing. I like to listen to it more than read it, it feels like Steve and I are just kicking back and having a discussion. You know, where he talks and I respond in my head. Sometimes I give him advice. Really. Days of horror stories gone by. And some of those stories make me groan. Some are just too long and silly: Under The Dome. Some I’ve heard before in a thousand better ways: Dreamcatcher. Seriously, I hung...
lOverO zOne: July 2012
http://loverozone.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 30, 2012. There is ONE thing I can do while reading. I can eat. I can sit down with a bowl of some partially hydrogenated snack with sodium and high fructose corn syrup and read and add a fresh layer of plaque to my arteries and another inch or two to my waist because I can eat with a lot more vigor than I can read. For some reason, the crunching. Doesn't bother my reading. I worked two jobs for extra cash that helped me plow through countless hours of books. Yeah, I did that. Anyway, I put ...

Palaeontology, museums, and dinosaurs. Mostly. Friday, August 7, 2015. Know Your Ankylosaurs: North American Odds and Ends Edition. I've covered many of the North American ankylosaurs in my previous papers and blog posts. In 2013, I argued that what we thought was Euoplocephalus. Was more likely 4 taxa. Proper. Then in 2014 we described a newankylosaurid, Ziapelta. From New Mexico. There are a few other taxa that had previously been proposed to be ankylosaurids, so let's take a look at them here. Is a ve...

So, okay, this is version 2.2 of the site with added blogging and some boffo sounds. Not a lot on that blog, except to say that there's a blog, but then you can't have everything. Oh, well, everything seems to more or less work, so at some point there might be some actual content. Whether that's actually a good thing or not is debatable. Insert smiley. I'm Dave Stone. This is my site. You may call me Mr Stone. I'm currently working on Armitage scripts again, for the Judge Dredd Megazine. They tend to...

Pseudopod is a genre magazine in audio form. We’re looking for horror. Since we’re an audio magazine, our audience can’t skim past the boring parts, so stories with beautiful language at the expense of plot don’t translate well. We’re looking for fiction with strong pacing, well-defined characters, engaging dialogue, and clear action. It can be beautiful too, if you’ve got all those other bases covered. Specifically, we use the Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives license. Briefly, this means that...
