Aileen Higgins, M.D. I believe in an integrative and individualized treatment. I find that therapy helps promote a deeper understanding of oneself which leads to a reduction in distress, an increase in ability to cope with future problems, and an increase in capacity for fulfillment. Therapy can be used alone or in addition to medications. I find that medications are not always necessary, but can be very helpful in quieting the “background noise” and allowing you space to heal.
