How to register for evening MBSR groups:. A) have your doctor fax a referral form to intake at 416-487-6221. B) you then phone Dr. Margittai ( 416-483-3778. To register for the next orientation session (2016: Sept.6) at 5:30 pm. C) Download and completely fill in all the registration forms (personal information and questionnaires), and make sure to bring it all (6 pages) with you to the Orientation. (download registration package. This is a one-time, non-refundable fee. F) The group will meet onc.

1) Is the all-day weekend retreat optional? No, all participants are encouraged to attend. These all-day (10 am - 4 pm) silent retreats at the North York General Hospital are also open to alumni of past MBSR groups. Dates for upcoming 2016 Weekend Retreats are: Sunday July 17, and Oct. 16th, 2016. 2) I already have commitments for some of the Tuesdays; does it matter if I miss one or two? 3) How often is MBSR offered at PsychSyt? 5) Where can I get more information on MBSR?

All the groups are currently led by Dr. Kathy Margittai. For the next 20 years, Dr. Margittai was on staff in the department of Psychiatry at Womens' College Hospital. She was head of the Consultation-Liaison Service, and Coordinator of Undergraduate Psychiatric Education. She also introduced a Derm-Psych Clinic for dermatology patients with chronic skin conditions and comorbid mental health issues.

Dr Margittai also offers an MBSR program at the North York General hospital. This is a physician-led, 8-week group program, on Friday afternoons from 1:00 to 4:30 pm. There are four sessions offered every year: Winter - from early January; Spring- from April; Summer - starts in June; and Fall - from early September. These sessions last 3.5 hours, and there is an expectation that participants do one hour of daily homework, in between the sessions. 1) NYGH MBSR pamphlet. 2) NYGH Physician Referral Form.
