In the wake of the devastation of Hurricane Ike, the Houston Food Bank, which doled out over 12 million pounds of food to 15 coastal countries to aid the victims of the hurricane. Consequently, the Food Bank encountered food shortages and was unable to assist the hungry as effectively. Our group decided to organize a food drive to relieve the enormous strain on the Food Bank's resources.
