Coffee Breaks: February 2015
http://puanchong-4.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 18, 2015. The Chinese are particular about the eve. The eve is the ultimate of the Lunar Year. Anything after this night holds less meaning. They call it the Reunion Dinner. At the occasion everyone eats over the table and say good things like; huat, huat, huat! The Chinese pray that their sons will be good seeds bringing fortune and fame to the family name. Sons become the revered lot; a preference over girls. What happens to the girls then? So, on such an evening as today, I had the...

Coffee Breaks: The Cousins
http://puanchong-4.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-cousins.html
Saturday, August 15, 2015. Oh I know I have gone a little too sentimental. But when you received news that another one has left home for studies you cannot help but recap her growing moments. Celine is seen here with her American cousins, Leyla and Jasper. All have grown. Leyla , now a ravishing beauty is with Disney world! What a privilege to be an employee of this theme park. Jasper has finished High School and now preparing for further tertiary education all in the land of fun and joy; Florida. Both r...

Coffee Breaks: The Next Generation
http://puanchong-4.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-next-generation.html
Friday, August 14, 2015. In the blink of an eye. Time does pass by. fast. You think you are still young; but there are tell-tale signs that you are getting older. Perhaps the best reminder is when I see the generation after us. Esther on the right is daughter number 2. Who is next to her? Of course she revealed. She is JM daughter to a university mate back in the 70s! So, it would be soon when I will invite SB for the next wedding in the home. Grace has a daughter and Keith has a son. What a small world.

Coffee Breaks: Glassware
http://puanchong-4.blogspot.com/2015/08/glassware.html
Tuesday, August 11, 2015. It was a Friday. The best part about retirement is that you are not tied up with a routine at times. So when Sara while on leave suggested I follow her to a location to buy glassware I gladly agreed. She had done her research and sourced the cheapest for a project for her big day. My mother sometimes looks at her small frame and wonder if clients adhere to her advice and doubts her ability in her litigation skills. Oh my dear mother has not faced her wrath. Aged 60 but still so ...

Coffee Breaks: July 2015
http://puanchong-4.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. The bird in the nest. They say having many children is a blessing because the probability of one staying behind is higher. So Sara is the bird in the nest; but not for long. Soon she will leave the nest too. Ask me what I will miss most. It's her doing her stints in the kitchen as she loves baking and making ice cream. I still recall when I first actually scorned at her ambitious dreams as I was not keen in the mess and the waste she might create. How very wrong was I. You are prou...

Coffee Breaks: The Morning Meet
http://puanchong-4.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-morning-meet.html
Sunday, August 16, 2015. Somehow mornings are the best hours of the day. Serene, calm and picturesque. It's makes you want to stay home and not go to work. Well I need not go to work; for quite a while already. I am getting used to getting up slightly late and not going after the jam. But when you need not work, you also need to find activities to occupy yourself. You want to feel useful. Well At least meaningfully retired. So, I do this. Every alternate day of the week I join them and jump up and down.

Coffee Breaks: September 2014
http://puanchong-4.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 11, 2014. What did he say? When Inti College extended the invitation to hear a former Prime Minister talk on globalisation in education, I could not resist. Hear, I must. Many wanted to hear what a former administrator of the UK had to say on education and globalisation. He was precise and witty and caught the audience's attention well. He had 5 basic points:. Be open-minded in all facets; religion, skills, creativity, diversity. Open up for opportunities and business for development.

Coffee Breaks: August 2015
http://puanchong-4.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 31, 2015. Whatever man may say; we still have this to say. We love you Malaysia; Happy 58th Birthday.". May God continue to preserve and protect this land now and forever. Monday, August 31, 2015. Thursday, August 27, 2015. It was 7.30 am. The lawyer in the house shouted across to us and said she was ready for court. Today was validity day; guilty or not guilty. At the courthouse I noticed people of all races mostly fathers and mothers gathering in the magistrate. It was a learning process...

Coffee Breaks: Colorful Community
http://puanchong-4.blogspot.com/2015/08/colorful-community.html
Thursday, August 13, 2015. And frequently chide me on my ill behaviour. Go and do something more useful la, ma. But I thought I was doing that? Entertaining the world in the blog? If you should think they are lonely and left aside you are most mistaken. I observed gladly how occupied they can be what with a community that speaks of no colour and creed in this little enclave. Dad greeted the medical specialist in the lift and the immediate response was " auntie ada baik, uncle? A lady in her late 30s.

Coffee Breaks: October 2014
http://puanchong-4.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 31, 2014. Sara has decided to change her mode of baking; no more cheesy ones only. Yes, colour is the word. She is into bolder concoctions. She gets into moods that cause her to create the most unimaginable at times. There was this weekend when she just wanted to bake a rainbow cake. Soon the baking tins were out and colours are splashed everywhere; the rainbow ones of course. Icing of rainbow hues were deftly pushed into plastic funnels for the best looks! That I can assure you. This is ...
