Thursday, 11 June 2009. Elaine's Secret Garden: Drawing Utopia. 169; Paul Beuchat. Last summer, like every summer since 2003, like I will do again in a few weeks, I was house-sitting and watering the plants in Elaine Kowalski and Elton Bash’s East London garden. It as if for the first time. Then I began to draw. Is there anything as futile, expensive, ephemeral and frustrating and yet as exciting and rewarding on a personal level as making art today? An entire economy of galleries, museums, dealers, coll...

Thursday, 30 April 2009. Lanudo: The Strangeness of a Drawing. Lanudo: The Strangeness of a Drawing. 169; Paul Beuchat. A few days ago I looked at some of the drawings that the Chilean artist Dominique Serrano included in a group exhibition currently on show at Animal Gallery, Santiago, Chile. Can the principles and methodology used to write a Dictionary of Advanced Drawing provide a model that is applicable to other Emerging Technologies? Can this process and the format of the dictionary be used as a model to identify and systematize the terminology of emerging technologies or do technologies acquire the condition of emergence once their specific...

Thursday, 10 September 2009. Micro-Commuting: Being Home as an Architecture of Personal Time. A Drawing Project by Paul Beuchat for the Exhibition “Home”. Curated by Martin Rasmussen, London, 2009. As an artist and translator, I live and work at home and therefore the centre of my living space is my computer and my desk, which are in my room. If something is altered or goes wrong in our “feeding” routine, for example, this will have a short term impact on a major “beam” in the con...8211; remits to the f...
