Mudluscious and Puddlewonderful: November 2013

http://www.puddlewonderfulworld.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Welcome to our world. Thursday, November 7, 2013. They intentionally pester and harass each other. Sometimes. They out and out compete. But I also love the way they love each other. And I know this might sound strange, but I'm glad they get the opportunity to take each other for granted, to accept and expect. Each other as a natural and perpetual presence in their own lives. He just is. Her little brother. She just is. His big sister. What an extraordinary blessing the ordinary can be. Quote of the Moment.

Mudluscious and Puddlewonderful: June 2011

http://www.puddlewonderfulworld.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Welcome to our world. Monday, June 20, 2011. A week or so ago, something very small happened, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. It was just an ordinary day, and we were home doing ordinary things about the house. And Peter said or did something. And it was just something small - so much so that the actual substance of the word or action slipped from my mind before even a few minutes passed. But I remember that it made me feel loved and loved in a very specific way. Wednesday, June 8, 2011.

This morning I ran 3.6 miles! Only 9.5 miles to go. The last half mile was pretty rough, but I made it, slowly, one foot in front of the other. And this morning their commotion sounded very much like boisterous voices cheering me on as I ran. And they sing out their joyful song in the beautiful way they were created to...

Thoughts from the Branson House: Quick Employment Update

http://learn2love-love2learn.blogspot.com/2010/02/quick-employment-update.html

Thoughts from the Branson House. Saturday, February 20, 2010. Last time I wrote, Dave had started a temp job. After about 6 weeks it became clear that it was not a good long term option for us or them, and so Dave has been home for the last few weeks looking for jobs, doing interviews, watching the girls so I can go into hiding and read the Hunger Games (and the sequel). Stephanie. Thanks for the shout-out! Im glad that what I was learning was able to bless you as well. Do you recommend them books?

Just a few words: 06/01/2011 - 07/01/2011

http://snuggle-bug.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Just a few words. Thursday, June 02, 2011. There are times when I feel like my own crap is just too much. My mind is too analytical, my obsessive nature clings to too many thoughts, my relationship with the Lord is too mucked up with fear and anxiety to be of any use to others. Thank you, Jesus, for using us when we feel useless, for giving us purpose when we feel purposeless, for being our hope when we feel hopeless. The "stuff of faith" was coined by my dear friend Stephanie Hough.

The Grrrly Librarian: Tit for Tat

http://grrrlylibrarian.blogspot.com/2006/10/tit-for-tat.html

Sunday, October 01, 2006. I've been thinking about getting a tattoo. I never really considered tattoos for myself until last year. Something about dealing with hubby's cancer and coming through the fear and uncertainty felt like a rite of passage. I think that's a big part of my sudden desire to mark myself permanently as someone different. Living scared and stressed to the marrow for months tweaked my perception of what's really. Has led me to understand better who I am.). If I saw her. Truck She's far ...

The Grrrly Librarian: Time's up

http://grrrlylibrarian.blogspot.com/2007/10/times-up.html

Thursday, October 04, 2007. I've been dumped. By a longtime- even a lifetime- acquaintance. What's worse, I found out from a recording. I reached for the phone, dialed the number, and waited to hear her voice:. At the tone, the time will be." punctuated reliably with a perfectly-calibrated. Instead, I was greeted with the 3-note tone for a disconnected number, followed by:. I was stunned. And then saddened. I know, I know- you're probably "having trouble accessing my pain," as Teresa. When I went away to...

Friday, July 07, 2006. And no, I haven't been in skates for about twenty years or so, but I have every confidence that a pair of kneepads and a brazen refusal to accept my middle age status will have me rolling happily in no time. (This time, though, unlike my 14-year-old self, wearing something other than the scalloped terry shorts and rainbow t-shirt of yesteryear.). Wednesday, July 05, 2006. http://grrrlylibrarian.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 10, 2010. Hippo Birdie Two Ewes. Wow I'm a little stunned that we've already made it through a whole year together. I'm also, paradoxically, unable to remember what it was like before you were here. What a wonderful year I have had with the great luck and joy of being your Mama. I feel so grateful to the Universe(? That I got to have a baby and that the baby I got is you. Your smile, your little sigh of contentment (which you've had since you were 5 days old! This image was created primarily out of images I took on the way home to Barcelona from a day out in Cadaques. A combination of light-noise shots derived from long exposures of the road and traffic, and dark silhouettes of road-side trees. There’s also a shot of some trees from Beijing in the mix. I printed this image and hung it in our school community art exhibition. It’s sale has helped to generate raise funds to support our student service groups. How does it strike you? May 12, 2015.
