Curved like her hip. The pear feeds his age. Gives water to the open skins of his life. But he shakes his head. A name on his lips.

Adirondack by the Hudson. We recently took the Amtrak on the Adirondack Route from New York City to Montreal. Partway along, a guide got onboard to work for a tour group that was boarding a stop or so later. While he was waiting, he told us that it was the oldest still-operating railway line in North America, and that it was one of the 10 most beautiful train routes in the world. I can understand why. This image was created primarily out of images I took on the way home to Barcelona from a day out in Cadaques. A combination of light-noise shots derived from long exposures of the road and traffic, and dark silhouettes of road-side trees. There’s also a shot of some trees from Beijing in the mix. I printed this image and hung it in our school community art exhibition. It’s sale has helped to generate raise funds to support our student service groups. How does it strike you? May 12, 2015.
