Pull it together: September 2011
http://thecharlie.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Halloween, look what you've done. If you're like me, you're tired of hearing anyone and everyone older than you saying "when I was a kid, [insert national holiday here] was nothing like this, it was like [insert simpler glazed over version of situation .". And you may or may not roll your eyes. I don't want to be another one of those people. Superstitions, witch trials, people walked around with eye patches because they were actually missing an eyeball. YOU ARE SO MEAN! I bla...

Pull it together: Pinning- with amazing results!
http://thecharlie.blogspot.com/2012/01/with-amazing-results.html
Monday, January 16, 2012. Pinning- with amazing results! Knows there are surly and snarky people like me, who like to rain on people's cheeziness. They have designed a site that forces me to be positive. God might have helped fund it just to make me a better person. Of man, not that kind. It's why I couldn't be in Las Madres. And why I'm the odd mom at the Girl Scout meetings. Why I can't go to pyramid scheme parties. And why Live Laugh Love. Makes me want to break something. Read: 3 * :) AMAZING *.

Pull it together: nevermind!
http://thecharlie.blogspot.com/2011/12/nevermind.html
Saturday, December 17, 2011. After realizing that sleeping in wasn't happening (because at dawn the kids were screaming and flopping on the bunk beds butted right against our headboard wall), I decided to use our over-sized bathtub for the first time in 6 months. Like an aquatic version. It takes a while to fill up, so you have to kinda' plan the bath and have some time carved out. I filled it up, and even dug up the sea mineral mask I had paid way too much for and slathered that on. Subscribe to: Post C...

Pull it together: Von Dutch Baby
http://thecharlie.blogspot.com/2012/05/von-dutch-baby.html
Thursday, May 03, 2012. I want to believe that at some point in time, the title of this post was a Wheel of Fortune Before and After puzzle). Today I'm blogging from a cafe near the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam. Im drinking a cappuccino, but make no mistake, I am not in a "coffeeshop" because that would be a hash joint. . Then I started noticing the names of the shops and putting the aromatic hints together. . Especially near our hotel, I feel like I'm on Pinoccio's Pleasure Island, and everyone's about ...

Pull it together: November 2011
http://thecharlie.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 13, 2011. It's a small [racial lego] world. This has been nagging my brain for like, over 20 years now. When I was a kid I was confused by the terms white, black, red, yellow (ok, brown made some sense) especially in light of my Crayola 64 pack. And how I would use "peach" to color in a white Barbie and a "copper" to color in her black friend in my coloring book. I mean, why didn't we call ourselves "peach" instead of white? Pull it together: March 2011

Sunday, March 13, 2011. I want to travel to India. And unlike roughly half of our neighborhood, I can't just hop on a plane and hang out with family there for months at a time. (pssst, because I'm not from. Do you know how much a ticket to India costs? Here's a hint: Southwest Airlines doesn't fly there. It's about $1800.00, not counting the overnight hotel stay in London in the middle of the journey. Perplexing. (possible answer: they eat only rice and never go to Target? Rupees are no object! First, si...

Pull it together: February 2012
http://thecharlie.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 04, 2012. Hop and why I'm bad at talking to strangers. This afternoon the kids and I were in a holding pattern of time-occupying activities, mostly involving products made by Apple. No one was really fighting about anything (thanks to this. And it was such a nice day outside that I opened all the front windows. Note that I didn't say, it was so nice outside that we actually went outside. Both kids vehemently rejected that idea, which they definitely get from my side. So I thought, "wel...

Pull it together: Gay Pareeeee
http://thecharlie.blogspot.com/2012/05/gay-pariei-just-wanted-to-say-gay-paris.html
Tuesday, May 08, 2012. I just wanted to say gay paris, and now I have excuse. I'm on the RER train. Are you impressed with my insider terminology? Back to Charles De Gaulle after some quality time in Paris. It deserves reporting that as I type this there is a man doing karaoke in the train car with me. It's like French-Yiddish-Latino solid gold hits day! He's actually a good singer, just like the guitar player, accordion player. Tons of people go to Paris, right? Sorry, Flanders ) or Lagos. All in one da...
