The View From Here: March 2010
http://sandycullum.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
The View From Here. Wednesday, March 10, 2010. It has been six years since I prayed "the dangerous prayer" and hurled my deepest desire for my family to know God fully, into the lap of God. I wanted them to know his complete character and personality experientially through relationship, intuition and intellect. The lap of God became the threshhold of an open door and we stepped through. Our older son, Kyle and his wife, Michelle, carried a seemingly bottomless bag. During a two year span in the midst of ...

The View From Here. Monday, November 22, 2010. What I Really Want For Christmas. Very soon I will need to answer the "what do you want for Christmas? What I would REALLY. Like for Christmas, if someone could give it to me, would be the gift of being a good listener. I remember seeing a picture definition of the character trait of "attentive" when our boys were young: a line drawing of two children in a small tent, with alert eyes and cocked ears, listening, listening to a coyote howling at the moon. ...

cullum family: Haircut
http://thecullumfamily.blogspot.com/2012/12/haircut.html
Friday, December 28, 2012. Yes, I knew they were doing this. Yes ,I allowed it to happen. They needed a haircut anyway and usually we just take the shears to them. It served its purpose.the house was quiet for a good hour, they were enjoying their time and they were making some fun memories. The scary part is that they actually think their new style looks good. Finished Product.certainly in need of a buzz cut in the next few hours. Maybe Gene will give them some pointers when he comes to visit.

The View From Here. Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Note to Self 2: Cups in the Car. One of the things I love about my newest daughter-in-law is how much she enjoys laughter. Since Amber reminded me afresh about the immense value of laughter in her recent blog post, I thought I'd share a quick EEUUGH! I put the car in park, turned and pulled the keys, and grabbed the to-go cup in the holder for a swig. Suck on the straw, feel lemon seed-sized object in mouth followed immediately by YOWWW.that's a STING!

The View From Here: The Happy Discipline
http://sandycullum.blogspot.com/2011/04/happy-discipline.html
The View From Here. Monday, April 4, 2011. Our desktop computer (with all my photos) has been paralyzed since the heavy storm that moved through our area last Thursday, but hopefully, soon, I'll have it back, with all bits fully restored and accessible. My body is reluctant to fully cooperate with my ambitious to-do list today, but at least I can post thank you's from the sofa with a borrowed laptop. I am grateful for:. 252 Prema's self-occupied, quiet deportment at the library. 254 the "nesting tree" du...

The View From Here: Nails of Gratitude
http://sandycullum.blogspot.com/2011/03/nails-of-gratitude.html
The View From Here. Monday, March 21, 2011. I raced through my first reading of Ann Voskamp's One Thousand Gifts. Gulping it down, feeling the sharp pierce of pain that shattered hearts and dulled lives into numb existence, and nodding in agreement, through mouthfuls of words, at the discovery and practice of the life-giving, life-sustaining discipline of gratitude expressed with such aching beauty. A few thank you's from my journal this past month:. 203 quiet comraderie with sister and mother. 208 passi...

cullum family: January 2013
http://thecullumfamily.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 25, 2013. My dad LOVES to fish. He lives on a lake home in Wisconsin where he can fish on a daily basis. The past year and half our boys have been old enough to fully enjoy the experience, but we hadn't made it up to the lake home during fishing season yet. When my dad has come to Florida in the past 2 years, we never got around to fishing. Today they are filleting the fish. So far they have said today is a 9. Thursday, January 3, 2013. In Tune with Thyself. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

cullum family: May 2012
http://thecullumfamily.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 21, 2012. Life has been extremely crazy lately, with planned and unplanned events. Today was the first day I could say that I hope to get back into a routine since February. In February Kyrie and I took a trip to Wisconsin for a week to visit my parents. Three of our kids had birthdays all within a few weeks in March and April. Sandy, Kyle's mom, planned wonderful celebrations for all 3 kids. She went all out on her planning for Eli's birthday. See my sister in law Amber's post.

cullum family: June 2011
http://thecullumfamily.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 21, 2011. Isaac completed his 2nd Triathlon this Father's Day weekend. I forgot to bring my camera, so I don't have any personal pictures. However Grandma Cullum had her camera and posted those on another blog. link here. Thursday, June 9, 2011. Clearly we need to work on learning the words of the National Anthem :) Usually the words are just as jumbled each morning but there is no hesitation between them. Instead they sing the errors with confidence. The camera distracted them a bit.
