Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Take some leftovers, put them together with some additions and voila! You have a lovely brunch. On a cold Sunday morning, the urge to sleep in under a warm comforter is really high and hence a meal of leftovers makes life easy. The menu was - an onion and green chilli omelette, potato masala sandwiches, cheese slices, sweet puttu and bananas and tea to round it all off. I do not make this curry at home because my husband stays miles away from it because of his yogurt / curd allergy. And demand mom to make it with the plantain when here. Yam / Elephants foot / Chena - 250 gms. Coconut, grated - 1/2 a coconut. Cumin seeds / Jeera - 1 tsp. Green chilli - 1, slit add whole. Curds, plain unflavored - 2 cup, thick beaten. Turmeric pwd - 1/2 tsp. Red chilli pwd - 1 tsp. Sugar - 1 tsp.

Thursday, October 31, 2013. This recipe for chakli made from maida is from my mother in law. Her chakli always turned out nice and crispy and my husband and I always enjoyed munching it. I was surprised when she gave me the recipe since it was super easy without any of the hassles of grinding it in the mill, etc. You can pick the flours available in any store and start with the making of it.
