Notes from the Rotation: April 2012
http://notesfromtherotation.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Notes from the Rotation. Where are you on the Wheel? Thursday, April 19, 2012. In defense of magic. I am a Harry Potter fan. Those closest to me know that. The eternal sadness of the series for me was always that it was fiction. That there is no magic in the "real world." But I'm starting to feel differently about that. Yes, Cameron also points out that "possibility is far more frightening than impossibility.". Synchronicity is everywhere. Have you experienced it? These examples are only the tip of the i...

Notes from the Rotation. Where are you on the Wheel? Tuesday, June 2, 2015. NOLA Locavore Challenge, Take 2. I chose to do the "Lenient" challenge, which means I can pick six foods and six meals that don't count. Pretty sure I'll be over the limit every week, but here's how I am starting out. The one next to it was from LA, so I bought that one. Today, after a breakfast of French Press iced coffee and a GF bagel I still had in the fridge, I hit the farmer's markets hard. CCFM had peaches! Lunch with my m...

Notes from the Rotation: The Wheel Keeps on Turning
http://notesfromtherotation.blogspot.com/2013/10/the-wheel-keeps-on-turning.html
Notes from the Rotation. Where are you on the Wheel? Monday, October 7, 2013. The Wheel Keeps on Turning. One day in 1991, walking home from my job at a sandwich shop to my apartment near Loyola, I passed a tiny shop on Maple Street called Crystal Accents. Once I walked through the door, I knew my life would never be the same. I was surrounded by books and crystals and incense, and most. I began reading tarot cards for my friends, for myself, and with Judith for parties and conventions. The subject of my...

Notes from the Rotation: November 2012
http://notesfromtherotation.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Notes from the Rotation. Where are you on the Wheel? Thursday, November 29, 2012. Ginger chicken and asian greens! There is nothing like fresh greens in the cooler months to remind us that spring exists. Tonight I made the most lovely dish inspired by whatever was in "the box" at Hollygrove market http:/ hollygrovemarket.com/. Also available but not in the box was ginger, but I had already picked up some of that at the Thursday market. The wheels began to turn. Totsoi, you may ask? Isabella is the picky ...

Notes from the Rotation: February 2012
http://notesfromtherotation.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Notes from the Rotation. Where are you on the Wheel? Sunday, February 12, 2012. Dairy Free Coffee Ice Cream. Dairy still makes my ears and all the tubes surrounding them fill up with who knows what. Gluten still has its own delightful effects that I needn't go into here. Let's just say they are most noticeable in the bathroom. I don't even experiment with soy really, because I don't miss it too much, but after a meal at a Chinese restaurant, a little soy is inevitable. In this dairy free version. Or just...

Notes from the Rotation. Where are you on the Wheel? Saturday, July 20, 2013. Ahhhhhh, vacation. Destination: Slow. This has got to be the best time of life. First day of a two week vacation, relaxing in the hotel room, waiting for the hotel water park to open because we gained two hours arriving at Phoenix at 7 pm last night. Watching the British Open (which started at 3:30 am here). And everybody is happy. Or will the Oasis Water Park at the Arizona Grand Resort win out? Week Eight of 2015. Back in 201...
