Wednesday, March 12, 2014. In Residence at ArtVanGo. Big day tomorrow - Thursday. I am 'In Residence' with Clare Bullock and Sharon Osborn at ArtVanGo. It's going to be a great day. Why not come along, have a coffee and a chat and see what we are up to? And, of course, a bit of retail therapy always goes down well. :). Also a good opportunity to catch the Spectrum exhibition mentored by Gina Ferrari which is on until 5th April. Hope to see you there. Wish I lived nearer - have a great day.

Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Had a great weekend teaching 'Creative Surfaces' at Missenden Abbey. We only had a small class this time, and then smaller because of illness, but it was decided to run it anyway. My fault. I call my workshops 'Creative Surfaces' then when it comes to it I can do whichever techniques I want to or alter everything at the last minute and nobody realises. Consequently, when prospective students see 'Creative Surfaces' they think they have already done this workshop. So here we go.

Monday, 29 September 2008. I found these very soothing to cut. Especially the squares above. I have found out in the last few years that I really like squares. After I pasted the pieces, I noticed the top one looks like a monkey. Can you see it? The rectangles were my first ones to cut and I didn't like the shape so much. I was thinking about the baby quilt that I just finished and is now hanging on the back of a chair waiting to be gifted. It looked really awful as I was pushing and shoving it around the needle to quilt it. Now it looks beautiful. I love the soft shades of browns, the wrinkles and the poofies. What has changed? Collector of all things shiny. Thursday, June 24, 2010. It's quilted and bound. just have to check for loose threads and it's done! Look out Harriet Hargrave, here I come! Maybe in another 50 years or so. The fabrics are organically grown and not dyed, the top quilting thread is organic. I used a conventional backing and bobbin thread because all I had left of the organic fabric was the plain off white. My machine quilting is not up for that yet. Links to this post.
