The world according to Scott H. View my complete profile. Afternoon tea review: Gooromon Park, Hall. Surprisingly nearby to Canberra there are many delightful rural areas full of rolling hill vistas, boutique wineries, and gourmet food providores. And cafes. Each time I venture into the countryside, which is not very often, I vow to see more of the local. Region, to try all of the local wines, to eat all of the wonderful. That it is famous for its cold climate ones, notably Riesling. Hen's night afternoo...

The world according to Scott H: November 2011

The world according to Scott H. View my complete profile. One thing that few people know about me is that I like to make my own jams and preserves. I grow a lot of my own food, and jams and preserves are a great way to use surpluses at the end of the season. This photo shows some of my recent efforts: there's my old reliable green tomato relish, my berry and rhubarb jam, tangy strawberry jam, a new one I can't wait to try, spicy tomato and ginger jam, and my three fruit marmalade (lemon, lime and kumquot).

The world according to Scott H. View my complete profile. First produce of the season. Great excitement today as I picked my first bunch of asparagus for the year. I'll fry these in some butter and serve them with pepper and Parmesan cheese tonight. Asian high tea (kind of). This past weekend Tom and I went to Melbourne, which is always a nice thing to do (I still miss living there, I must admit). Just like old days :). Over the weekend we also went to the Oriental Tea House. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

sneeuwmeisje: Trick or Treat
http://sneeuwmeisje.blogspot.com/2010/10/trick-or-treat.html
Zondag 31 oktober 2010. 1 ui, fijn gesnipperd. 270 g risotto rijst. Doe het vuur ...

The world according to Scott H. View my complete profile. Afternoon tea review: Conservatory at Crown. Today we braved the hordes of tourists in shorts and fanny packs admiring the gloomy glitz of Crown Casino (where there was a crowd-pulling Christmas extravaganzza show seemingly every 5 minutes, despite it being 2 days after Christmas) to try afternoon tea at the Conservatory restaurant. More evidence in favour of Speedos. I came across this absurd story. Is this not utter madness? Singers to writhe ab...

James & Angela in Texas: Homemade vitamin water
http://jamesandangelastubbs.blogspot.com/2012/07/homemade-vitamin-water.html
James and Angela in Texas. Tuesday, July 24, 2012. I saw this and decided I wanted to make my own. I used to drink zero calorie vitamin water all day when I was working. My employer loved it and had all her beverage refrigerators stocked with it so I learned to love it too. Don't they look yummy? Posted by James and Angela. A survivor, not a victim. They look SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Yummy! July 24, 2012 at 10:46 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Welcome to our blog. Audree, James' niece.

Susan Can Cook: The Advanced Pantry - Fridge Staples and Frozen Shrimp
http://susan-susancancook.blogspot.com/2015/03/the-advanced-pantry-fridge-staples-and.html
Food Fit for Sharing. Saturday, March 21, 2015. The Advanced Pantry - Fridge Staples and Frozen Shrimp. A large part of successful home cooking is having things around. I didn't grow up in a household that kept parsley, shallots or capers on hand, but my daughter did. When preparing simple food, little things make a huge difference. Using shallots instead of onions is one example. Adding a bright pickle, such as capers can make something simple pop with flavor. 1/2 cup grated carrot. 1/2 cup sliced celery.

Susan Can Cook: August 2014

Food Fit for Sharing. Wednesday, August 6, 2014. Plum, Nectarine and Vanilla Bean Jam. Sometimes the best jams are not preplanned, but come about by happy accident. I don't mean that you walk into a kitchen, knock over your fruit bowl and say, "Whoa! I mean, you're going. The water bath is boiling. You're already sweaty as all get out and you have just a few cups of pulp left. What's it good for anyway? Package and you have some jam that is (as Paula says) fair worthy. Plum, Nectarine and Vanilla Bean Jam.

postcards from a concrete garden: leopard print pill box hat
http://postcardsfromconcrete.blogspot.com/2010/02/leopard-print-pill-box-hat.html
Saturday, February 20, 2010. Leopard print pill box hat. Love this. Imagine making your own little pill box hat. From pieces of a cereal box and a roll of tape? I probably wouldn't buy one of these 'cause I'd feel silly wearing one. BUT I'd feel ever so glamorous sporting one I made myself. (I recently wore a little electric blue wool skull cap that was meant to be a hat - very proud of that one.). Image from sovintagepatterns.com. Inspiration how-to by Threadbanger. I'm doing this tomorrow.). Balls My i...
