JenuineIMexperience: February 2007

Friday, February 23, 2007. Swimming with the fishes. No, not in the Sopranos way. : ). I've seen lots of forum posts about the benefits of joining a masters swim group. Now, I'm not going to say it isn't beneficial, but do the benefits hold true for the slow lane? Maybe I don't benefit as much from masters as those that can keep up with the workout, but I do think I still derive some benefit from swimming with the other fishes. Thanks for sharing the lanes mates! Posted by JenC at 12:27 PM. I'm really gl...

JenuineIMexperience: December 2006
http://jenuineimexperience.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 29, 2006. I think I have had a perpetual bruised knuckle on my right hand for weeks if not months. Every time it starts to feel better, I bash it into the lane lines again on my next swim. Maybe I should start "sighting" in the pool. : ). It is a small price to pay though and I'm just happy that I swam the 3500 yards today with no left arm pain. Woo hoo! Hopefully, my 40-minute treadmill run later this afternoon will be without pain too. Posted by JenC at 9:13 AM. I've been debating abou...

Thursday, September 28, 2006. Back on the trainer again. On a positive note, my poison ivy is healing nicely. It barely itches now. I think identifying it finally made it say "OK, you now know what I am. Good! Now, I can let you heal. Spiders indeed! Posted by JenC at 1:59 PM. Wednesday, September 27, 2006. Poison Ivy, Posing and Perspective. I probably still need to dry clean and wash a lot of the clothes I've been wearing the last few weeks. I've been lurking on the www.Slowtwitch.com. JenuineIMexperience: April 2007
http://jenuineimexperience.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 30, 2007. Mother nature wasn't kind to us 10-miler racers on Saturday. I was convinced that it wouldn't rain, but wow, was I wrong. It wasn't too bad during the race, but after, I shivered all the way to the car (and I was running). Well, I actually set a new 10-mile PR by almost a minute. My chip time was 1:31:58 (finished 38 out of 78 in my age group). Last year, I ran it in 1:34:32 and the year before in 1:32:56 (my prior PR). Posted by JenC at 9:40 AM. Should I be offended by this?

My weekend of 3's concerning my High Cliff Half Ironman on Sunday. Okay I must say, some of it is my fault for not reserving a hotel in the middle of Wisconsin. I left Saturday morning on my 3 hour drive to a town close to the race site. My first 3 hours. Then the final #3, yeah,. The theme for the race was to stay focu...

Martial artist, Triathlete, IronMan, UltraRunner, Mostly Just Plain Craziness. Follow me on my quest to figure out if "Impossible is Nothing". Friday, May 26, 2006. I must tell you going for a swim session at midnight at the local 24 hour gym sucks big time. But I needed to do it.Since I missed one of my swim workouts last week, I have been feeling so out of it in the water and my swim stroke shows it. Enough of fun and games, I had to continue my practice. After a lap or two I looked up and he was gon...

Martial artist, Triathlete, IronMan, UltraRunner, Mostly Just Plain Craziness. Follow me on my quest to figure out if "Impossible is Nothing". Monday, October 30, 2006. So it has been a long, kind of painful week for me. After being sore from the Chicago Marathon I scheduled my hernia surgery 3 days after the race. I figured if I was in pain anyway why not add more to it or at least distract me from my tired running legs. Caption: There is almost no limit to how BIG a hernia could get if left untreated!

Martial artist, Triathlete, IronMan, UltraRunner, Mostly Just Plain Craziness. Follow me on my quest to figure out if "Impossible is Nothing". Sunday, April 30, 2006. Rain, Rain, Go Away'. Today is the anticipated 10 mile race along the Chicago lakefront.I've done it the past 2 years and knowing that it is a flat and therefore fast course I was hoping for a "PR". But I think somebody forget to tell the weatherman to halt the rain and wind from showing up to the race. I did my 10 to 15 minute warmup going...
