Mon amie l image so titelt in diesem Jahr vkunst frankfurt. Es liegt in der Natur der Sache, dass die bildende Kunst primär eine visuelle Erfahrung für den Betrachter ist. In diesem Sinne haben sich die Kuratoren von vkunst, Christoph von Löw und Andreas Greulich, in ihrer Konzeption von dem sinnlich-bildlichen Aspekt der Videokunst leiten lassen. Was kann das Bild für den Videokünstler bedeuten? Ist es nur Selbstzweck und schöner Schein? Dem nachzuspüren ist die Aufgabe von vkunst frankfurt 2014.

Novum 2013: Jochen Latz stiftet den Medienkunstpreis vkunst. Erstmals wird in diesem Jahr der mit 2.500 Euro dotierte Medienkunstpreis vkunst verliehen. Eine unabhängige Jury aus Museumskuratoren und Kunstwissenschaftlern wird die beste Arbeit unter den ausgestellten Werken küren. (Der Rechtsweg ist ausgeschlossen.).
