Question of the Day. Thursday, December 28, 2006. Question of the Day: Day 362. When you engage in competitive activities (work, sports, games, etc), would you rather be up against someone better than you or someone that you know you can win against? Posted by Michelle at 9:34 AM. In general I don't consider work to be competitive, but rather collaborative. There will always be those who try to take credit for work done by others, but the truth comes out over time. Never the same "game" twice. Question o...

Question of the Day. Sunday, December 24, 2006. Question of the Day: Day 358. Does the extreme commercialism around this time of year bother you? Why or why not? Posted by Michelle at 12:00 PM. It sure has it's moments. I try to ignore it. it creates stress when I allow it to make me fill pressured to buy more, more, more. I think that I do a pretty good job of NOT buying into it. Respond to heated situations with a level head (or admit my "bad" if and when I've shot off at the mouth while under pressure. Adapt rather than resist changes things change, that's life. Follow through with goals. despite obstacles. When my actions are in sync with my beliefs. Allow myself to be still and my mind to clear.

The Secret of life, the universe, and everything. .we're all temps. Little Miracles II - My Toilet Overfloweth. This evening we went to my son's german club dinner. The food was probably what you would get in an authentic German Gymnasium cafeteria, it it were say a government-run Gymnasium for encouragable boys. Needless to say, I am sick to my stomach beyond words. The authentic german "cuisine" (borscht? What the HELL is borscht? Anyway, that's not the real beginning of this part of the tale. I called...

The Secret of life, the universe, and everything. .we're all temps. TV TurnOff Week (April 24-30, 2006). Having said this, I have some observations concerning what we're 'missing' at my house. We don't have a daily reminder of the murders, treacheries, and the extent of humanity to be evil to each other pumped into our home. We do not have between 12 and 60 minutes of commercial broadcasting pounding at our consciousness every hour. We do not subscribe to the '1/2 hour solution' syndrome', or face such h...

The Secret of life, the universe, and everything. .we're all temps. Lilacs and Auld Lang Zein. For my birthday this year I received a Persian Lilac tree from a friend. At first, it was a scruffulous thing, bearing leaves at the ends of two branches that were more like twigs. I found a nice spot for the pot and started watering and talking to the tree. A few days ago it expressed appreciation by bearing a few tiny, persian-pink, aromatic flowers. Lilacs and Auld Lang Zein. I am dreaming of the New Year.

Half a Cup of Blues. Monday, September 26, 2005. We put over 700 miles on the truck this weekend and that was nothing compared to the driving my uncle did! We headed down to. For the BBQ cookoff. My uncle, Jerry King, drove all the way out from Midland, Texas. He was one of just 37 contestants in this brand new BBQ contest. I've never been to one of these but I'm sure going to go to some more. Some of the BBQ rigs were big! Ya reckon the family reunion that we had going on there distracted him? They make...
