Today we discussed strategies for solving our multiplication problems , the Year 4 group are getting close to mastering using the place value strategy while the Year 5/6 group are starting to master cross products. Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Wednesday Session, Week 8. We looked at solving division problems by changing them to multiplication problems. For example 42 divided by 7 is the same as 7 x? We explored more division strategies and had a go at playing 'Divided Loyalties'. The children have got a good grasp on the place value strategy but need to continue to explore and apply some of the other strategies. I am away tomorrow so the children have plenty of follow up work to do in class. June 21, 2009 at 1:15 AM.
