Monday, 31 August 2015. Singing for the UK Prime Minister. This evening we are off to a concert in Ely Cathedral and this reminded me of the occasion many years ago when my wife was singing a choral concert in the same venue when the Prime Minister of the day, John Major, turned up! He was surrounded by bodyguards and wanted to just be "ordinary" but the committee insisted he got front row seats! His daughter was playing in the orchestra. The Cambridgeshire Choral Society. Would I have it any different?

Saturday, 24 December 2011. If, like me, you were a young child in the 1950s you will remember the sweets called Spangles. That came in long rectangular packets containing square shaped hard sweets. They were available in all sorts of flavours. Spangles disappeared from shops years later and I don't think they are available nowadays. Tuesday, 31 March 2015. Stroke - a bad day. It seems to be a pattern: if I have a few days that stress me physically or mentally, then I have a bad day when I feel totally exhausted all day. Today was such a day: I have felt washed out all day. Let's hope tomorrow I'll feel better, or at least not tired out totally. Big FTSE 100 falls. Rainbow and churches blog. You may have noticed that I am back on 6m rather than 630m WSPR, for now. I am still using 1W ERP on 6m from my V2000 vertical omni antenna and I am on TX about 20% and RX for about 80% of the time. No doubt I'll then get loads of stations telling me then, "you should have stayed on 6m". Well, for now at least I am. Sticking around on 6m.

Time and again I have been struck by just how un. One thing is certain: we still have a great deal to learn about E-layer DX propagation. Es is certainly a fact on many summertime EU QSOs on the higher HF bands and 6m, but I am sure the multi-hop explanation for some very long distance QSOs is not right. Sub 9kHz Amateur Radio.
