There is one area that has very young trees spaced out a few meters from each other. The rest of the area was grass, hay, and thorns. Big, nasty thorns (Mulu! As Nagamutu says). We used arivas. Sunday, March 18, 2007. Tiruvannamalai - Bangalore - Hospet - Hampi. So Matt and I had a bit of a competition going to see who could pack the lightest. I think we tied by both bringing only a camel-bak worth of stuff. Everyone else packed a huge camping daypack that must have weighed more than 50lbs each. Smooth sailing…. Sunday, March 18, 2007. So as I mentioned before, the Hampi landscape is made up of 4.5 billion years old granite and other rock formations. As far as the eye can see it is a boulder field. Mountains off in the distance made from huge rocks and patches of lush greenery. On top of half of the peaks are ancient civilization ruins.
